Very surprised and very impressed. I went in going off of what I saw on here in terms of reviews. I was nervous because I have very long hair and have always gotten the same type of cut. Layers, not too short and it always came out the same. I went in today and told him very vague details and my hair turned into model-type hair. It had so much body and movement and I felt like a million bucks leaving. Mikhail did a great job and knows what he is doing. The staff was very friendly and easy to talk to as well. just great haircut. Mikhail of Etro Salon does wonder with hair. I have quite long hair and was nervous to head up for a hair-dresser I have never been to. He was worth every penny. Not only is he extremely talented but also very down to earth person. He is so open to provide his views, opinions and takes time to provide options. Simply best !!

Communication is vital. With all due respect to the client who reviewed the salon below her information is quite inaccurate. First of all, the cut that was given to her was the exact replica of the picture that she came in with. Before the cut she never indicated that she did not want her hair to be cut short. Why bring a picture and tell the stylist to give you this type of hair cut if it isn’t what you want. The hair cut in the picture and the one she received was very chic and stylish and not cut short at all. Honestly, her hair cut was only modified to improve her look. If you want readers to be the judge of the haircut please post a picture of yourself and the picture brought in. One of the most vital parts of our client/stylist relationship is communication, so if you do not wish for a short haircut you need to communicate it.…

So Disappointed. I needed a last minute haircut and called this salon.I got Mikile who seemed willing to please and I was grateful he took me at the last minute. I brough in two pictures of what I wanted and while he gave me a beautiful haircut, there is only one huge probem. Its not the haircut for me or what I asked for. He completely disregarded what I wanted and asked for. My hair is so short, I hate this and now I have to let it grow out. I really hate how short this is and would have never agreed to do this short. Thats why I brough the picture. Funny thing is, he thought the pic was good for my hair as well, so why did he do this so short and differently that I asked for. Its to bad because I think he does have a talent, but Im am soooo upset. I cannot go back there. Then on the way out he said communication is what would make it happen, that is correct, so why is it he does not follow his own advice. I did communicate prior to the haircut and he disregards this. I guess his getting the business is not so important. He did what he wanted one time and lost what could have been a very good client. I cant tell you how unhappy I am. Mikile, you need to listen to your clients and do something to make up for the ones that are so unhappy. Its going to take months to grow out and I really wanted something I could live with now.

Fantastic color!!. I moved out here almost a year ago from Tennessee and had to find a new stylist after having the same person doing my hair for almost a decade. I read some reviews online and decided I would give Polly a try. I have a lot of extremely thick and curly hair and she not only does a beautiful job blending different color tones into my hair, but she never misses a single hair on my head! She can even do a beautiful blowout when she's done. I'm definitely glad I took the chance a year ago! She's worth it!!…

Best. Haircut. Ever!. I have had shoulder length or longer hair for almost my entire life and always I have asked for the same basic cut. Long layers, face framing wisps, no "bangs", not too much off the length and something I can blow straight or make wavy. Amazing how many "experts" I have been to where the cut looks great leaving the salon and then falls flat when I try to style it on my own. I've had stylists leave me with uneven layers and choppy mops.

When Mikhail proclaimed my explanation of the cut, "simple" I have to admit that I raised an eyebrow. Was he going to give me more of the same?

He did not. He gave me the best, layered, face-framing look I have ever had. I felt like a Victoria Secret model leaving the place. And the best part is that I have been able to style it myself!! I actually look forward to doing my hair now!! AMAZING!!!

I'm only sad that I just moved to San Diego and won't be able to come to salon Etro anymore.

Unless, of course, I plan to fly back to visit family AND get a haircut. Which, would be WELL WORTH IT!!!…

unbelievable - and not in a good way. I went in to get my roots done. I was there on time. Gary was an hour late. I got a "free conditioning treatment". I don't like sitting in a salon, so I wasn't happy. Gary finally shows up for consult. I had the feeling from the very beginning that I should just leave, but I didn't. My hair is wet at this point, so he really can't see the color to match it. He picks a color and just starts putting it in my hair - no paintbrush, no sectioning. Said he didn't use a brush because of carpal tunnel - again I should have left - but didn't. My hair is all mangled and tangled. Now it's going on 2 hours that I'm sitting in there for a root job only. Under the dryer, back up, under the dryer. I don't know if you can apply color to wet hair - I'm doubting it. Finally I get up - "Is this done yet?" Gary says "Well how light do you like your roots?" What?? How about light enough to match my hair color? At this point, unbelievably, I have spent 3 hours in this salon!

Long story long, I washed my hair for the first time last night. Today I have all my roots back, my hair is really brassy and I can't believe it! If it looks like a horse, and it smells like a horse, it's a horse. Get up when you know it is not right and leave the salon. I spent $85 for nothing. Do go just to save a few bucks, you'll pay in the end.…

Mikhail and Gary are Amazing!!!!. . Well, I just had a baby a few months ago, and before I went into the salon I was feeling out of style, frumpy, and almost depressed with my appearance (from the neck up). I read the reviews of beauty bar and decided to give Mikhail and Gary a try. I figured they couldn’t make me any uglier than I already was feeling. Right off the bat, Mikhail made me feel very comfortable and I had complete trust in his thought of what type of hair style would like nice and fit my lifestyle. To say that Mikhail and Gary gave me the best hair of my life is an understatement!!! I don’t think I will ever find better hair stylist’s EVER! If they moved to the moon, I would go there to get my hair done by them. I will never go any ware else again...EVER! When I got into my truck with my husband he said "I didn’t even recognize you...that is the best hair I have ever seen you with". I was thinking to myself “Mission Completed...I look hot again” LOL. But anyways, if you are looking for a haircut and or color, Mikhail and Gary are amazing. Walking out of there, I felt like a new person, and liked like one as well.
