This is why you avoid Sun Devil Auto. My wife stopped on the highway to help a guy stranded with a bad battery jump start his car. The stranded guy put the red cable on the positive side of the battery and the ground on the A/C Suction side high pressure hose and popped a whole in it. He is a good guy and wanted to do the right thing and pay for the damage he caused. It was a bad thing that happens to good people. That is not why Sun Devil Auto sucks. Read on...Bob (manager at Sun Devil Auto on Chandler Ave) and explained the problem. Without seeing the car or anything, he quoted this guy 700 for the repair. In an attempt to save 175 dollars, the guy had me take the car over to Sun Devil and have the AC repair done there. So, here we are in a delicate situation. I am trying to get my cars fixed and the guy is trying to get the best value. Bob has me bring it in right away and they will get it done the next day. The guy calls in with his credit card and we drop it off. After promising to take care of it, Bob takes the next day off. He fails to mention this to me and to the man responsible for the repair. The next day when I call for a status on the vehicle, an underling of Bob's mentions that he knows nothing of the arrangement for a 3rd party payment, the vehicle in question or anything. Now we get to start all over again. The underling gets the ball rolling and orders parts....the WRONG part. So here we are with another day gone by with no car and no idea whats going on. The following day, Bob comes back to work. I am pissed that he planned for this and then walked out on our repair with not so much as a word being left in our direction. I tell him how pissed I am that we hurried down and dropped the car off for repairs and then were left without someone of interest taking CARE of it. I brought my 1993 isuzu trooper in with a problem starting. instead of fixing the starter they told me I should replace my timing belt, this was a $1,000 job. I like my car so I did it. I got the car back and guess what? it still wouldn't start. I brought it back in. they told they couldnt figure it out and that I should bring it back in when it acted up again. (the car would start on occasion) as I left they told me maybe it was a starter and they would be happy to replace it for $600. I looked at craigs list, and found a guy named ken 480-238-9700 he came to my house looked at it, whacked the starter with a hammer and presto it started every time. So he replaced it for $228. it took him around 2 hours, he also repaired a ding in my windshield.

Sun Devil is not interested in finding out what is wrong with your care as much as they are interested in selling you on expensive services. why spend time trying to get my car to start when they can install a new timing belt water pump etcand make more money do not use sun devil. they are thieves. I don't use this term lightly.
