nightmare
by Steve Strauss
Shasta did a pool remodel for me a couple years ago. It did not turn out well. Within a few months, cracks began appearing which ruined the new skimmer. Then the pool began to leak.Their warranty is worthless as they refused to do any repair. And then they actually had the nerve to give me an estimate to do the remodel all over again. Stay away from these guys.
Cool Pool Designs
by Smithie57
If you're looking for high end pools, I think Shasta is pretty good. I looked around for a pool earlier this year, but I couldn't afford one because of the economy. When I was looking Shasta seemed to have the best designs and they told me a lot about how they build the pool that was different from how other pool builders do.
- Pros: Great Designs
Great Service - From the build to the service

I had my first pool built about 10 years ago and I thought it would be a good decision to give it a try on my own. Little did I know when I went to get my pool built for my home 5 years ago it cost less than doing it on my own and it was extremely easier. I had a great experience from the salesman to scheduling the construction out. A huge bonus that I got this year when I was looking to replace my pump, they sent me a deal on a "eco-friendly" pump. Now I'm not sure how eco-friendly it is, but it does everything that my old pump did at a fraction of the cost. I guess it helps that it uses less energy, but all that I really care about is the fact that I have less money going out every month to pay to maintain my pool. Overall a great company and no matter what some reviewers here have said they are a well established company that seems to strive to take care of their customers every step of the way.
- Pros: Great Service, Good People, reliable products
- Cons: A little more than the next guy, but they have a better product
Terrible company, workmanship and warranty department!

SHASTA tore the wall down in the back yard to dig the hole, but then didn't dig the hole in time. Calling them and getting the help we needed got off to a bad start as well, leaving messages as well as speaking directly with customer service representatives who claimed they would have someone call us right back, but no one did call us back. We ordered a finish called Crystal Crete. It was supposed to look like blue granite, but the week the pool was filled, we noticed a lot of staining within a couple of weeks, it looked like a spotted leopard!!! (it did not have any blue granite what so ever either!) We called many times!. There was lie after lie after lie. On top of it, our pool was resembling a white PLASTER pool, though we paid dearly for the blue granite. They repeatedly denied that anything was wrong! Then a superintendent finally came to the house and said that indeed something had gone wrong with the "curing" of the crystal crete, hence all the staining and massive discoloration. It gets worse! They would have someone come out October 2007 to begin what they refer to as a "low PH treatment" which is dumping large amounts of acid into the pool which removes the staining. We scheduled appointment after appointment and no one would ever show up. One year and 3 weeks LATER we actually have someone here to do the work, and they let us know that we do not have the finish that we ordered!! Then they talked about remodeling the pool and we (as the customer) will only have to pay for materials!!! I am not paying for anything!!! I told them as an independent contractor myself, , and that this problem needs to be resolved now! Now we are at a point where they will bring someone next week to make the executive decision to re-do the pool with rock, because the (and get this) our original CRYSTAL CRETE finish was an experiment gone bad! Anybody else being told this by Shasta??????????
- Pros: Nice salesman?
- Cons: Lieing to cutomers, over priced
Excellent!!

Shasta Pools made our new pool buying experience so wonderful!!!
by CWnKW
We would like to express our most profound thanks to Shasta Pools for making our new pool buying
experience so wonderful. Every member of the Shasta Team was friendly, professional,
and extremely helpful. From the moment we walked into the Phoenix office we were
treated as if we were Shastas most important customers.
The receptionist greated us warmly, offered us a cold bottle of water, and never lost track of us
until our salesperson arrived to escort us to his office even though her phone never seemed to stop ringing. Our salesperson, Joe Delora, was very knowledgeable and friendly and helped us
design the perfect pool for our needs and space without making us feel like we were
being pressured in any way.
Every member of the various construction crews was
skillfull and courteous. And we must compliment Shasta on the high quality of work
performed. Every piece of trash and work debris was picked up and disposed of as the
crews left the work site and we never found so much as a single candy wrapper left
behind. Our patio was even hosed off when they got mud and dirt on it.
June Watson is the absolute best customer service representative of any company we have ever dealt with. Always cheerful and always professional, she never missed a scheduled contact along with the numerous unscheduled contacts and follow-ups. We never felt like we were left out of the loop.
Ron Stine was our face-ta-face contact and we have never met a harder working and more
diligent superintendent. He was there to check up after the completion of each step and
was always willing to take the time to answer our questions and offer advice.
This is our second Shasta-built pool (first in 1997) and if we ever need to build another pool it will most certainly be a Shasta! This was truly a wonderful experience. We feel that Shasta Pools deserves to be Arizona Business of the Year and we will recommend Shasta Pools to all of our friends.

BAD! BAD! BAD!
by azguy181
Shasta is awful. I have a new house with a new Shasta pool. The spa leaks. They won't fix it. A bad mannered girl named Lindsey McGee would only send out a repairman if I agreed to pay $85 for "a pool orientation". Why? They collected the money for building the pool and they gave a warranty. They should honor their word.
Don't do business with these people.
- Pros: Nothing
- Cons: Bad manners, won't honor warranty
Great People!

We are so happy with Mr. Mark Laggren (Customer Care Cordinator). We could fee he cares about the customer always. He is so friendly and such a nice person. Besides him, all the people we met from Shasta were so nice!!
Shasta is horrible - use anyone but Shasta

Ok so my partner and I designed our diving pool with Gary in sales. The contract was signed and the work began - during the process they continued to screw up the pool. The in floor system is clogged with dollar sized rocks and debris, the filter is cracked, the wok pots are eroding after only two weeks, and to top it all off the field superintendent Butch did not catch the lack of tile to our loveseat and applied the crystal crete finish. Now even after admiting that a repair would leave a patch they refuse to strip down the pool and start over. Gary's explanationwas "it just does not make good business sense" Even though we have a legal binding contract showing tile placement on the loveseat, Shasta is fighting fixing the problem. We simply want the pool built to the specifics of the contract that we signed. Now Gary claims it will cost Shasta between $8-9k to fix their error, am I as the consumer to be held responsible for thier short comings? Having been told from Gary in sales that not having tile on the loveseat would cause a safety issue if a diver hits thier head we could be sued I believe this is a serious error and needs to be fixed.
Watch out if you use them. They are miserable to deal with and try to conceal phone numbers from field superintendents and supervisors in an attempt to prevent the client from contacting them. These guys are poor at best - the choice is yours but exercise it wisely!
- Pros: nice salesman
- Cons: poor service, quality and workmanship
Best pool builder in town

If you live in the Valley, I'd highly recommend calling Shasta to build your pool. I really like the warranty they provide. All the people were really nice.
