Awesome Food & Service

Very good South/North Indian Buffet introduced on this weekend. As they are new to buffet in weekends(friday & saturday dinner) they served it with fantastic items... Their Dum biryanies are very special...

many many n many more iteams in buffet. i wish to say very longest buffet in AZ.

Its a family restaturant, u feel like u eat in your home & there servies is so friendly natured. compared to other resturants in AZ less in price, more in taste with selective number of spices.

I am from london and my friends suggested me to visit PRIYA in Tempe, i really enjoyed my holiday food in PRIYA..

Never wait guys, RUSH RUSH.../

I love this place

We have being going to Priya for the past few years. We go there at least 12 times a year or even more. The family is very friendly and the food is excellent. Wonderful little Mom and Pop place.

Excellent Indian food, nice mom and pop restaurant, tasty buffet and dinner menu

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I've tried, we've eaten both the dinner menu and the buffet. They have amazing tandoori chicken and the tikka kabob plate, aloo gobi, and chana masala are awesome! My husband loves their stewed goat. Although the seleciton at the lunch buffet is a bit limited, I have always found the food very fresh and delicious. Don't believe the bad reviews, I've read a lot of restaurant reviews and it sounds like these were rude customers. If you are rude to the staff and are wasteful, you will not get good treatment, and NO I do not work for the restaurant! I've eaten here many times over 8 years and I've never been treated badly or experienced "bad food". As with any buffet, if you come at the end of service, shortly before they close it up, the food is not going to be as fresh, but it's certainly never been "bad" or "spoiled". The owners seem friendly and pleasant to me. I'd recommend this place to anyone who likes good Indian food.

• Pros: Excellent food, not a chain, good to support local non-chain restaurants
• Cons: Buffet choices are a bit limited, more selection would be nice

Over Spiced - Not Fresh - Haughty Attitude

This is the worst Indian restaurant I've ever been to, and I've been to many all over the country.

The Bufftet was terrible. The food was heavy, poorly spiced, over priced and not fresh. The owners had a cruddy attitude and gave my son dirty looks because he left a plate half eaten (but the food on the plate was bad). I was burping spoiled food the rest of the day. Stay Away!!!

Try India Palace on Bell Rd . They have MUCH BETTER food and service.

Worst worst worst!

Hands down the worst Indian restaurant in the Phoenix area! I have been living in Tempe for almost 8 years now and I know all the Indian restaurants. I have been to Priya only twice and I regretted eating here both times.

Here is an example of their service. We went to their buffet section for a second helping and took a second plate. The owner stared at us and put up a sign that said "dont waste plates". If anyone involved with the restaurant is reading this - then here is a piece of advice - let the customers EAT IN CLEAN PLATES!!! Thats the point of a buffet. Then while we were eating, another waiter came up to our table and simply picked up our food and left, without even asking whether we were going to eat it. Then they put up another sign that says "dont waste food". OK - so here is another question for you idiots from Priya - will you charge me less if I eat less? !!!

Oh and then the food - anyone with a hell of a lot vegetable oil, chicken and some vegetables can cook what they served. It was basically oil, oil and more oil and some chicken and vegetables in between! Needless to say - it sucked.

cold food left over from lunch was served for dinner, very bad experience !!

We were very excited by reading the ratings, and went there for dinner. Our 1st mistake was we were not speaking the Telugu (or was it tamil / malyalam / kannada?) language. They speak good english, but customers speaking their language were treated better.

Our 2nd mistake was we ordered a "thaali" type of curries. Those came with all sorts of side dishes of curries which were the left overs from lunch menu. The rice was ice-cold !!.. Even the main curries we ordered were having cold vegetables inside, only the gravy was warm.

We could have ignored these small issues, but the food was completely tasteless.

Still the owner came and asked "everything okkay sir?" .. I was so fuming, but my wife asked me to keep calm & remain polite.

All in all, very bad experience. Will never go again. Even if you are a raving fan of their buffet lunch, at least do not visit for dinner - unless you have liked whatever you ate in the morning. For sure you will be served with those same dishes.

Good dinner food, not lunch.

I went twice for restuarant, one at dinner time and one at lunch time. Dinner time it was good. But lunch the options were more, but I wouldn't recommend it to people.

I would recomment people going for dinner and trying out the biranyi stuff. and If you would like some malas dosa or idle. it is a good place.

I would seariously not suggest people trying out the lunch buffer option at all.....

Excellent ...Feels like to be having home food :)

This is one of the best places to have some delicious, mouth watering , spicy and most importantly INDIAN food. Atleast mutton biryani looks and tastes like biryani and not like fried rice with tomatoes and all unwanted things in it. Guys dont care and dont mind abt bad reviews. Have a look and taste the items once....you can't resist going there another time. MOreover I am going for lunch today and I am keeping myself hungry to have a grt buffet.

May God bless all bad reviewers a sense for good taste for food .. hehehe

Aweful spoiled food. Never visit this place..

This place has really downhill in the last couple of years. It used to be very good. I have gottten really sick the last 2 times i had food there. Really bad food..This place should be shut down by health services.

Please dont judge it unless you really know it.

This is not a review from some who had the food. It is the review from the Priya resturant itself. All we could say is that if we were not to serve good food and not have given any good service we wouldnt have been running the resturant for more than 10years. Which is not a small time. We wouldnt have been getting cutomers for all these 10 years. We might have ran out of buisness like with in an year if we were not a good resturant. Its true that everyone has a different taste and different recepie to make food, like every mom cooks different. We are not really aware who are writing these reviews it might be some of our competitors becuase no one takes time to write a good review and such a long review as people write the bad reviews. . Thanks for the people who gave good reviews and also the bad reviews because someone might think after looking at these mixed reviews this cant be really a bad resturant because there are both good and bad reviews. So he really needs to come and check it out. Please do not judge any resturant not just ours based on these reviews. Its like judging someone with out really knowing them. Please do come to our resturant try and then judge it.
