Gold mining and dining unite at this kitschy all-American eatery.. In Short
Established in 1977, the Claim Jumper draws families, seniors and professionals with a mix of Old-West decor and a reliable menu of American classics. Logs, corrugated tin, rock and warm fireplaces embellish the unique ambience. Signature plates include hickory-smoked pork ribs, rotisserie chicken and barbecued beef tri-tip; the menu also offers tortilla chicken soup, potpies, wood-fired pizzas, and the popular six-layer Chocolate Motherlode Cake. The saloon features appetizers and the restaurant's own brews.  View Less View More

Not What I Hoped For. I've been to Claim Jumper's on several occasions, and I have to admit to being disappointed almost every time. The beef ribs I ordered previously were skimpy and tough. Not worth the price I paid. The "half order" of chicken and biscuit I ordered was huge on biscuit, and very, very low on chicken. I had been warned that portions were huge, so I ordered what I thought would be a reasonable amount only to find that it was a little less than half a chicken breast and a huge amount of breading. Very disappointed. The bill for three people was over $70.00, and that did not include drinks other than iced tea, cola and coffee. The desserts were tasty, but again, over priced. (My husband and I shared one piece of carrot cake.) The service was excellent, and very attentive. The atmosphere was wonderful with plenty of rustic charm. Still...I have to say that I don't understand all the raves about huge portions and quality of food. I have had more food and tastier at Mimi's and for a LOT less.  View Less View More

We're thrilled we found it!. We happened upon Claim Jumper while leaving the mall one day, and decided to have dinner. Wow! The food is excellent, though the portions are just huge (they offer half-orders on appetizers and such). We've been there three times, now, and were only disappointed in the service once, on a busy Saturday evening. Otherwise, it's great food, reasonably priced, in a fun atmosphere.  View Less View More

Bigger is NOT better. They need to focus on quality rather than quantity. Big portions don't offset poor quality. I'll not go back.

!!!!!YUMMYYYYY!!!!!. Great value! Always a fun place to go. Definently go with a group, but can also be good for two, or even a family. Food is plentiful, and you always get the value of your money! Steaks could be a little better, but overall, just down right great!  View Less View More

Interesting atmosphere and good food. The atmosphere at Claim Jumper is absolutely fascinating. The decor is enough to make you sit in awe as you look around at this old style western mining theme with unique inventions to keep the eye darting about, like the fan system in the ceiling. The food comes in very large portions and though it may be a little more expensive than your Don Pablos or Outback Steak House, it is well worth it. You also have to get dessert at the end of the meal and make sure you save PLENTY of room!!  View Less View More
