An architectural masterpiece constructed from all-natural local materials.

In Short
Nestled in the desert of North Scottsdale, Taliesin West is constructed of stones, sand and petroglyphs found in the McDowell Mountains and surrounding desert area. The building stands as a remarkable tribute to Arizona desert life and was home to legendary American architect Frank Lloyd Wright from 1937 until his death in 1959. For the first decade, Wright refused to install glass windows in the stone-and-redwood home in an attempt to become one with nature. After his third wife, Olgivanna, became tired of sweeping up all of the nature, Wright decided to pane the windows. The massive structure also houses Wright's architectural school and firm.
Great Tour

Run to see this wonderful example of Frank Lloyd Wright's Architecture. Tour Guides are extremely well versed. Views are wonderful, take the last tour of the night (7:30) as the sun sets and the lights come on in the desert. Can't say enough, we thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
