" GET A LIFE"

A COUPLE OF PEOPLE GOT OUT OF BED ON THE WRONG SIDE.
I HAVE NEVER IN TEN YEARS HAD ANY PROBLEMS AS DESCRIBED.
THE STORE IS CLEAN AND WELL STOCKED. ANY SPECIAL ORDERS HAVE BEEN HANDLED VERY PROMPLY.
ON ANY GIVEN DAY I GUESS THERE COULD BE A PROBLEM WITH PARKING BUT I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ONE. ALWAYS FOUR OR FIVE SPOTS.
AS FAR AS PRICING IS CONCERNED WE HAD BETTER SUPPORT OUR LOCAL MERCHANTS OR THEY WONT BE HERE.
PERSONALY I LIKE TO TOUCH AND SEE THING RUN BEFORE I PLUNK DOWN MY MONEY.
GREAT FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS
- Pros: KONWLEDGEABLE STAFF
- Cons: CANT THINK OF ANY
"Seven sixteenths of one inch"

That's the distance you'd have to move your pinky in order to not sound like an idiot. I know the burden of pressing shift to capitalize is a great one, but c'mon SHS123, you can do better than that. I used to type emails in caps like yours, but then I decided that I didn't want a hobby playing with toy trains. I am still convinced that the review written by bear8216 is either an employee or the owner of the store. I have personally received the same treatment as described by drgw3001. I do agree that we need to support small local family owned businesses so they can survive. However, if they act like you are a inconvenience to them by shopping at their store maybe it is time that they try doing something else. In today's economic downturn retailers are doing anything to get consumers to shop at their stores. I'm glad you have had good experiences at this store, but apparently it is not the same for all shoppers that go in there. We're not asking to be waited on hand and foot the minute we walk through the door, but to be treated with a little respect by the owner or employees that they are truly happy you chose their business to spend your hard earned dollar at. There are many options for consumers today, so businesses, even small ones, need to work harder than ever to earn your dollar, not have the attitude that they expect you to spend it at their store because you walk through the door.
Best Model train shop

I have been to this store on numerous occasions. I have been treated with the most respect of any train stores I have been to. Go in with a great attitude, and you will get a great attitude back. Go in with a chip, any expect the treatment like the other reviewer. Personael are more than willing to help, even if they do not have it in stock. I am confined to a wheelchair and it is ok to navigate the store. If not, they are willing to move things out of the way. My hat is off to the employees. Thanks for a great experience. Yes, it is true you can get things cheaper on the internet, but, we will lose stores like this if we do. They have to pay the bills to stay open.
Overpriced, moody and fussy store employees, avoid this place at all costs
by drgw3001
All of the three encounters I've had with this store have been horrible. On one occasion I was looking for a specific part for a locomotive and the store owner was more interested in pushing his own agenda. I wanted something prototypically correct and he tried to tell me I was wrong when he clearly didn't have a clue what he was talking about. He ignored me and went on to another customer as I sat there waiting to hand over the money for a special order. Second, I went in to purchase 3 HOscale gondolas about 15 minutes prior to closing time. The guy acted standoffish and irritated that I was even there. Is this how they try to get repeat customers? He sat there staring me down as I made my selection. I paid and was out within 10 minutes and promptly locked the door behind me. Third, I wanted to special order 3 new units just released by Athearn that are selling at several other hobbyshops for around 70 dollars. Roys wanted 100 bucks each with no room to budge. Caboose hobbies dot com had them for the better price so I ordered all 3 with courteous and friendly service. A couple emails have been sent to Roys train world expressing my dissatisfaction but were never returned. In my final attempt to formally contact them I stated that I'd never purchase anything at their store again and would do everything in my power to boycott them. Not having the common courtesy to at least address my concern shows the level of arrogance they have. They clearly don't know how to treat a customer. Overall, I would say that their staff is snooty, arrogant, and everything in the place is overpriced. Even with shipping considered, anyone can find a far better deal online.
- Pros: thumbs down
- Cons: parking extremely limited
