My husband LOVES Pete's Fish and Chips but I HATE it. I come from Oregon where the seafood is fresh and I just don't think the shrimp or fish is the real thing. On the other hand, my husband insists on eating there every time his parents come to town...

We used to eat at Pete's when we lived in Mesa. We now live in Salome, Az. Pete's is one of the first places that we stop at when we come to town to eat at. They can't be beat!

Pete's has been serving fish & chips (and more!) for quite some time now. They know what they're doing! The food & prices are great and make Pete's a must.
Quick, tasty and local

Pete's is a great local fish and burger place that has been a long time favorite of my family. It's not going to be gourmet and they're going to give you Pete's Sauce, that's it. It's tasty and cheap and it's famous for being a pit stop-style hang out that has lasted in the valley for decades. The food is fast and the fries are always crisp. There's lots of outdoor seating that has misters in the summer and heaters in the winter.
WHAT A RIPOFF!!!

After waiting outside to order from the window... you get a WIMPY burger and the absolute WORST "seafood" (they should be sued for calling this seafood) I have EVER tasted in my life.
This place is a joke and if you buy anything other than a drink you are going to get ripped off.
Pete is no friend of mine. I want my money back, Pete

This is a staple in Mesa's eateries, great food, great prices. They've been around for manyyears, that tells me that it's worth going the drive to eat there. Love it!

West Valley locals swear by the breaded cod and fries.
Tasteless...

Pete's batter is tasteless and bland. This is NOT good English style fish and chips... in fact, I'd call it downright yucky.
Frozen Fish sticks anyone??

Nasty!! I got a couple squares of previously frozen fish and some pete's sauce. I had to pay for tartar sauce, they had no malt vinegar or lemon. How can a previous rating say that this is the closest to authentic fish and chips they can find? I feel that the fish and chips combo at Jack in the Box blows this "Arizona Landmark" out of the water. Sorry Pete!

This is the closest to traditional english fish and chips I have found in the states.
- Pros: authentic, delicious, inexpensive
