My wife, who is a native South Korean, and I had dinner at the Korean BBQ in Mesa this past Friday. The meal and service exceeded my expectations! I would highly recommend this restaurant to all who seek great food in a great environment served by great people.
MSG Galore

MSG is a salty taste. All the side dishes tasted loaded down with it. If it wasn't MSG then it was salt. Either way the food is so salty you'll be drinking water by the gallon to stabilize your system. The service was excellent and the restaurant was clean. Friendliness stood out immediately. This table cooking setups was very good and very clean when I went. I didn't use it, but I took notice of it. Now the salty food could be the cook I had. If they have different cooks, then maybe you'll get the good cook, but the side dishes all were so salty I couldn't eat them.
- Pros: Service and cleanliness
- Cons: Salty Salty Food, large groups can be accomodated

Went to Korean BBQ for lunch today, was awesome! The server's were pleasant and demystified Korean BBQ for us.. been wanting to try for a long time, my tummy is happy we went! Had the beef with mushrooms as well as the pork slices in chile paste. The server cooked the food in front of us on the tabletop grill.. the food was fresh and just delicious! The panchan was fresh and many, I think about 8 in all.. Oh the dressing on the salad, just amazing!

I tried the BBQ beef and some spicy BBQ pork. The meal is huge! so be careful on ordering too much, since each entree comes with a LOT of side dishes.
The lady cooking our food was really nice and she didn't make us feel uncomfortable, since this was our first time eating Korean food.
I loved the food and the service.
- Pros: Food and Service
- Cons: The place looks old and it's hard to find
A hidden Treasure

This restaurant is at the back of the shopping center on the Northeast corner of Guadalupe and Alma School Road, and as such, you may not notice the unimposing sign. However, it is one of the better Asian restaurants in the area.
The selections are varied, and based on consuming a lot of reportedly authentic Korean Bar-B-Que in other cities, this is as authentic as I can recognize.
The staff cooks at your table, and they make this more than just eating out -- it is truly a dining experience.
Try the dumplings for an appetizer, and vary the choice between diners so you can sample a little of everything.
- Pros: Great food and Service
- Cons: Location is not obvious
My Korean restaurant when in the area.

This is a place you should go if you want to try Korean or even if you eat it often like I do. I travel a lot for business and am constantly trying Korean resaurants. This one is now my place to go when I am in the area. The food was very good and I had the choice to cook it at my table or have it cooked for me. Since I was by myself I had them whip up my Bul Goki and it and the sides were awesome and the portions were good. Since I am on Atkins trying to drop some weight I did not try the rice but it was good looking stick rice. I will be back before I leave.

Of the 3 Korean restaurants I've eaten at in the Valley, this one has the best food. My wife prefers Arisoo. I enjoy 'em both but Korean BBQ had the better side dishes and the best Be Bim Bap, which is what I order the most. Service is friendly and prompt. The decor is pretty basic, but after 33 years of marriage we're looking for good chow not atmosphere.....
