You don't know how good you have it until it's gone!!
by winston04 at Citysearch
I moved to San Diego six years ago thinking that surely there would be decent, spicy Mexican food available. Boy, was I wrong!! After enjoying Los Dos Molinos for the prior two decades before moving, I had no idea how much I'd miss it. It is by far the best Mexican food around. It's so true... you never know what you had until it's gone!!! I miss you Los Dos:(
- Pros: the incredibly spicy food
- Cons: none
It's all about the pibil, baby!

The best! I love the chili plates, adovada ribs and roast pork platters. Not to mention the hot as hell salsas -- all great excuses to keep the intoxicating libations flowing to extinguish the flames. Dang, I wish we had New Mexican food in LA. I really miss this place and try and make it each time I'm back in town (or in New York) to visit.
To bravef, stick to your Seatlle Moose joint for your "Mexican" food. Sure, there are places like that in Phoenix, too. You're probably looking for some white-table cloth place like Barrio Cafe that will bring you table-side guacamole and margaritas in cocktail glasses or, the other New Mexican place in town, Richardsons, for its mood lighting. btw, margaritas tend to be on the sweet side, in general. Would you really be surprised to find that a raspberry margarita or prickly pear margarita is a sweet beverage? Anyway, if you've got fire in your belly for quality New Mexican, then ignore bravef -- because Los Dos is the place!
- Pros: HOT HOT HOT, radical ambiance in South PHX location, friendly management and service
- Cons: The wait (sometimes)
The Mesa Location
by foodqwest at Citysearch
Although I have visited the location on Central, the Mesa location on Alma School north of Broadway is my favorite. It fits my favorite type of restaurant that I classify as "where the locals go." Great food, good service, appropriate atmosphere-they have it all.
- Pros: always lives up to my expectations
- Cons: none

Best authentic mexican food I have ever had!!!!

If you like spicy...this is where you want to go. This is the real deal. From the pitchers of margaritas to the enchiladas. Its worth the wait at the door. The only restaurant with better mexican food is in Mexico!!!
- Pros: Everything
You Better Like it Hot
by lvfilms at Citysearch
This is the perfect "hole in the wall" family-run restaurant. The food is incredible and well worth dealing with spotty service. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. Fair warning for those not accustomed to New Mexico-style chile and salsas: these are very spicy and full of flavor. If you have kids or a large group, you can't go wrong.
- Pros: great food, inexpensive, casual
Highly recomended for the adventurous eater!

The food here is very spicy & super hot (unless you request otherwise), yet it is extremely flavorful. The margaritas are in what could be used as a giant fish bowl. The two spot that you will find the most fun are the south Phoenix location on Central & the original location in Springerville, AZ. Springerville is in the middle of northeast nowhere Arizona close to Showlow, AZ. This is a family owned & operated restaurant & everything they offer, aside from the liquor, is hand made freshly every day.
- Pros: Generous portions, Great fun, Huge Margaritas
Are You Kidding Me !?!?
by aztoiltwice at Citysearch
As a former Phoenix resident, I am amazed at the negative comments regarding this establishment. Whenever I am in Phoenix, I make sure to get my Los Dos fix. The location is historic, the staff is polite (duh...it helps if you are polite to them!) and the "wait" is part of the experience. Perhaps they, occasionally, close early because they've run out of their freshly prepared items. Try to stop and think before you criticize. If you want a never-ending supply of mass produced food, go to Ch*vy's. Check your egos at the door, grab a pitcher of margaritas and quit whining!
- Pros: Inexpensive, Fun atmosphere, Margaritas
a party in my mouth

Los Dos Molinos is one of the greatest attractions of the desert. We first found this place when we came to visit AZ and see the surroundings. My husband and I, both Southern Louisiana natives, frequent this place for the HOT and SPICY cuisine! There has never been a delay in our order, nor is the staff rude in any way. This place is a must see for all of our visitors and friends. This is a definite culinary treasure that we will miss when we leave AZ.
- Pros: food, service, ambience
Not the Typical, Chain Mex Restaurant
by mcmlxix69 at Citysearch
Los Dos Molinos is a great Mexican restaurant! My husband and I have been enjoying Los Dos Molinos for over ten years and haven't had a negative experience. Yes, the owner, is often cranky but then she has to deal with self-appointed Mexican food experts who think PF Chang's is genuine Asian food.
Fresh chips and salsa are quickly replenished as you wait for dinner. The food is flavorful and yes, hot. One weakness is that they don't serve appetizers on the patio while you wait. Speaking of waiting, the best way to experience Los Dos is to go with a group of friends. The wait can be as long as three hours, so spend that time wisely by having a great time with your favorite pals! And yes, the kick-ass margs are served on the patio while you wait!
