good food, GREAT drinks
by sabitasin at Citysearch
you don't go to Los Dos to be pampered by waitresses or to marvel at the decor - you go for great mexican food and a magarita. you won't be disappointed. if you like hot food, ask for some recommedations - but expect the magaritas to go down faster and assign a designated driver! one of our favorite places in phoenix.
- Pros: great food, awesome magaritas
- Cons: it's not a fancy restaurant
2 strikes and yer out Los Dos
by perrisvintage at Citysearch
Just to let people know..the horribly rude woman is still around. I was insulted by her 3 months ago when we first moved to the area and Los Dos seemed to be the most popular place around Undaunted we tried it this week to give them a second chance. The staff was thin on the ground and frantic, so the growling hosttess decided to help out by taking drink orders and throwing menus at people. I asked if they served agua fresca drinks ( not the most unusual request in a mexican place ) and the response was "'aqua what!.. I don't know what you are saying, I'll come back when you can make up your mind".....never to appear again. We waited another 5-10 minutes and walked. Our first experience was average food and a greeting so rude I truly wasn't sure if it was some kind of 'fawlty towers' type comedy angle. Naw...they are just plain ole' bad mannered.
- Pros: Neat neon sign, short drive for me
- Cons: rudest hostess in the city
Best authentic mexican food I have ever had!!!!
by karalh at Citysearch
If you like spicy...this is where you want to go. This is the real deal. From the pitchers of margaritas to the enchiladas. Its worth the wait at the door. The only restaurant with better mexican food is in Mexico!!!
- Pros: Everything
save your money & time...

I've owned and operated many successful mexican restaurants & cantinas in California and Texas, where there is both true competition and educated diners/patrons. "Los Dos" is "Los Zeros" in my opinion. The food is average at best, (though the adovada is OK). The location is ridiculous and is only compounded by the rude service and the obnoxious wench pretending to play "hostess". I've heard more negative commentary about this "Soup Nazi" personality throughout the city than any restaurant should be allowed. For the considerable drive this restaurant offers to most patrons, the very least you should expect is civility from the staff. What a joke. Save your money.
A PHX Institution

Each dish at Los Dos is made with loving care. You can see it in the presentation and taste it with each bite. What makes Los Dos stand out from the rest of the pack is their unique use of spices in their sauces and salsas. The sauces are what gives the dishes their flavorful kick. If you don't like spicy, be sure and tell the wait staff.
If you go during peak hours, a wait is inevitable. Relax with a frozen lime margarita and get your taste buds ready for this firey and delectable fare.
- Pros: sauces and salsas, enchiladas, margaritas
- Cons: long wait
You Better Like it Hot
by lvfilms at Citysearch
This is the perfect "hole in the wall" family-run restaurant. The food is incredible and well worth dealing with spotty service. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. Fair warning for those not accustomed to New Mexico-style chile and salsas: these are very spicy and full of flavor. If you have kids or a large group, you can't go wrong.
- Pros: great food, inexpensive, casual
Highly recomended for the adventurous eater!

The food here is very spicy & super hot (unless you request otherwise), yet it is extremely flavorful. The margaritas are in what could be used as a giant fish bowl. The two spot that you will find the most fun are the south Phoenix location on Central & the original location in Springerville, AZ. Springerville is in the middle of northeast nowhere Arizona close to Showlow, AZ. This is a family owned & operated restaurant & everything they offer, aside from the liquor, is hand made freshly every day.
- Pros: Generous portions, Great fun, Huge Margaritas
Are You Kidding Me !?!?
by aztoiltwice at Citysearch
As a former Phoenix resident, I am amazed at the negative comments regarding this establishment. Whenever I am in Phoenix, I make sure to get my Los Dos fix. The location is historic, the staff is polite (duh...it helps if you are polite to them!) and the "wait" is part of the experience. Perhaps they, occasionally, close early because they've run out of their freshly prepared items. Try to stop and think before you criticize. If you want a never-ending supply of mass produced food, go to Ch*vy's. Check your egos at the door, grab a pitcher of margaritas and quit whining!
- Pros: Inexpensive, Fun atmosphere, Margaritas
shocking

My wife and I went to the one on Alma School Road for lunch on sat. sep. 3.
Service was below average at best.
The "food", -$9.50 for two empty taco shells-, went untouched back to the kitchen.
My burro was generic and tiny.
For those prices the food should be tasty and plentyful. It was the opposite.
Mild food is not the only thing they cant prepare here...
- Pros: none
- Cons: food, service
Too to taste

I love spicey food, but this was the worst experience I've had. It's so hot that you can't taste the food. What is the attraction?
