Came here with my mom... by Chris M. at InsiderPages

My mom was visiting and this fit her description of a nice place to go- so we did! She had the eggplant parmesan (I could have bet money that she would) and I had spaghetti and meatballs- a classic! My plate was good, nothing exceptional, but mom's was a bit dry and could have used more sauce.
Excellent food...insane busboy

Yummy yummy. the food was fantastic and you really get what you pay for. Only complaint is the maniacal busboy that literally throws plates, silverware and bread onto your table. It's like a drive-by bussing. Very unprofessional. He also did not move the glasses to be refilled away from the customer which puts you in the line of fire for a possible spill. They really should consider either staffing more bus-people or explaining etiquette to the one they have. They were very busy, so getting so much as a menu took about 30 minutes.
Food = Great. Service = Needs much improvement.
- Pros: great food
- Cons: service and patio views of great Phoenix construction
Briefcase-toters and city-event goers break for Mediterranean specialties.

In Short
Fans of Christo's Ristorante, a North Phoenix Continental/Italian place that's been wildly popular for years, find a sense of familiarity at Alexi's downtown. Both places offer that mustard-y house-made salad dressing everyone loves. Both offer rack of lamb and other Mediterranean specialties that reflect the owners' Greek roots. It's a popular corporate lunch stop, so the place mellows come dinnertime.

Alexis is by far the finest restaurant I have visited during my 43 years in Phoenix. We arrived at 3:00PM, late for lunch and early for dinner, but were given the warmest welcome and the fastest service. The waiter was friendly but not overbearing. The food was delicious, they make great soups, and the price made me smile. Truly a joy.
- Pros: inexpensive, well prepared food, variety of choice
- Cons: , 0, 0
Before The Show

Checking out their reputed quick service, we tried Alexi's before a downtown concert. In that regard, we were very happy. The fish was prepared wonderfully, but my friend was brought the wrong salmon dish. She was brought back the same plate, wrong sauce and all, with the additional veggies which constituted part of the correct order. Due to time, we didn't let them know that we knew, but we did. After dinner espresso turned out to be watery cappucino instead. Presentation and value were great.
- Pros: good food, value, great service
- Cons: inaccurate order, poor repair of order, weak coffee drinks
