An oasis of life and blossoming beauty in the heart of the desert.
by Contributor
In Short
The nonprofit Desert Botanical Garden highlights one of the world's best collections of desert plants. One exhibit in the park's 147 acres includes re-creations of how ancient Native American tribes lived in harmony with the desert and the present-day tribes who continue the way of life. Don't miss the Center for Desert Living, which demonstrates the ways 21st-century life in the valley benefits from technology that works in harmony with the desert.
Desert Gardens!

The Temp was near 100 and it was still very enjoyable. Since we had not yet experienced the desert terrain, it was great to see and learn about the plantlife indigenous of this area. The trails are set up so that you may follow your own personal interests or experience it all. We ate lunch at the cafe and it was more than sufficient with good choices. The gift shop was full of great stuff as well as educational items, all were reasonably priced not gauging as most attractions!
- Pros: Educational, Beautiful, Enjoyable

I never knew there were so many varieties of cacti or other desert plants! The garden is very well maintained with informative plaques in each display. My experience was definitely an enjoyable walk in the desert.

After visiting the Botanical Gardens, I was amazed at all the different types of flora that are so natural to the area. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend this to everyone from out of town as well as locals. There is alot to learn about your own backyard.
