Beware - check your order before leaving. Each time we have ordered carryout from Honey Bears BBQ, they have shorted the order. Good BBQ but beware. One time they left out the 1/2 chicken dinner. The most recent visit we ordered two whole rib dinners but discovered they gave us combinations when we got home. It's not easy to check an order since you have to open the boxes and if you have a large order, as we often do, it can be messy. But shame on us---they won't get away with it next time. Some of their order-takers are pleasant; others not so nice and thus the two-star rating.  View Less View More

Great BBQ Chicken.. Last summer while visiting my boyfriend took me here for lunch. Since we have moved here it is all we crave. Living in Glendale we never mind the drive. The chicken BBQ is awesome. Their BBQ sauce is a perfect combo of sweet and hot, just how I like it. Everytime we go it is busy but they always have an open booth and ordering never really takes that long. It worth it  View Less View More

Very disappointed. A freind of mine wanted to introduce me to what he said was some of the best Q in town. My friend ordered a beef brisket sandwhich which he enjoyed, but looked like an Arby's sandwhich. I ordered a hot link sandwhich, which was the worst tasing hotlinks I have ever had. The links tasted like boiled oscar meyers minus any flavor. The service and ambience were okay. I will not return, unless management or ownership changes.  View Less View More

Best barbaque in the valley!. Honey Bears is the best! Everything here is fantastic, the cole slaw, the beans, the ribs and last but not least the sauce! The sauce is incredible! I always bring extra home but for some reason it's never as good as the real deal. These guys have barbaque down!  View Less View More

Memphis-style 'cue puts the South in your mouth.. In Short
The name alludes to the special ingredient used in the sauce, which is based on a recipe borrowed from the owner's family in Jackson, Tennessee. Despite the competition, Honey Bears is still a local favorite for its barbecued chicken, ribs, beef, pulled pork sandwiches and hot links. Pair any meal with potato salad, coleslaw, corn on the cob and sausage-studded "cowbro" beans, and finish off with the doughy peach cobbler.  View Less View More

Best Sauce in Town!. I've been eating at Honey Bear's since they started on E. Washington St. years ago and have also visited their Central and Thomas location. Their slaw is very good and their beans are to die for. Everything I have eaten there has always been top notch, especially the hot links. Their sauce is unlike any other I have ever tasted and I swear, I could DRINK the stuff! It's that good. 2 for 1 bottles of beer at happy hour too. I hope you nay-sayers stay away, 'cause that means more for the rest of us with taste!  View Less View More

Not Memphis. I agree. I've been to the best of Memphis (Corky's & Rendevous) and Honey Bears is not even close.

50 year old food. They advertise a 50 year old family recipe. Sometimes, as in this case, older is not better. This is bland bbq, certainly not as good as a half dozen other places in this town. BBQ has grown up in recent years, better meats, spicier, and there are certainly other options out there.  View Less View More
