My Top Worst Food Experience of All-Time

by agavero at Citysearch

Had a reservation for 6, showed up with 5 and got turned down for dinner. When we asked the hostess to accomodate us she said it would be at least a 2 hour wait! When we inquired with Chris Bianco, he stepped outside and yelled explitives in our face (while standing on the curb to feel taller) his ego precedes his size and he had a knife from his kitchen that he seemed prepared to use. They have no regard for customer service. I would suggest Pizza Hut for a better service experience. If you like to fight and argue to get your table then Pizzareia Bianco is for you...otherwise avoid this place like the plague. Thanks Chris!

rude!!!!!

by unhappyarizona at Citysearch

My husband and I with another couple went into Pizzeria Bianco around 9:30 on a Saturday night. All four of us were extremly excited to try the restaurant, we had heard about it on Oprah. My husband and friend were shocked at how rudely they were treated by the hostess. Basically asked them to leave and step away from the bar area. They asked if we could sit out on the patio, which was empty, and they said we couldn't sit out there either.

I called and spoke with Susan the "manager" and got treated even worse. I was blown away. I told her I didn't want anything free just wanted to let her know what was happening in her establishment when we went in. She continued to agrue with me and told me what I was saying was here say. I eventually hung up because I didn't call to argue with her. She called me back twice. The second time I answered and she told me I was calling to complain about her staff being rude, but I was the rude one. AND THE TOPPER.... she asked me if I was raised by wolves???? Repeated it again because I didn't comment, "did you hear me were you raised by wolves?" I couldn't even believe a manger of such a well known establishment treated me the way she did. So, they have a 5-6 hour wait she told me, does that mean they can be rude to anybody that walks in the door???? Since Oprah recommended this establishment, how would Dr.Phil diagnose Susan????

Rude Rude Rude!!!!!

by CJVanderpool at Citysearch

My husband and I enjoy going out to dinner and finding new exciting places to dine. After hearing so many wonderful things about Pizzeria Bianco, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, our excitement ended there. We have NEVER been treated with such disrespect. In fact, before we could even put our names in to get a reservation, we were rudely told to ?Move away from the bar, someone is sitting there!? (We were standing by two empty seats waiting for someone to help us put our names in for a reservation) This was said by an employee of the establishment. This employee continued her ill-mannered behavior throughout our short stay.

Customer service is important in any business, and although people may rave about Pizzeria Bianco?s so-so food, it is not worth the wait nor is it worth the appalling behavior of the staff. This includes the management, who seems to have complete disregard for how their staff treats others. I guess the staff must learn it from someone, right? I strongly suggest that someone gives these people some tips on customer service. There is a right and a wrong way to approach customers.

I have worked in customer service since I was 16 years old. Which means, the last fourteen years. I have also worked for one national chain of restaurants for five years. I was one of their corporate trainers and for three years I ran one of their classroom programs, in which I trained and tested all their new hires before they had actual hands-on training. I taught them all about customer service. So when I say I received poor customer service, you can be sure I know what I am talking about!

What goes around comes around, and if the staff continues to treat people this way, I do not see good things in the future for this overrated restaurant.

  • Cons: Horrible service! Rude management!

Never again!!!!

by danielgonzalez1972 at Citysearch

I have heard so much about your restaurant over the past few years, and was dying to try it on my next trip to Phoenix. (I visit family and friends in Scottsdale all the time.)

Upon arrival at the restaurant, the blonde woman who greeted us (term used extremely loosely) was so rude and had absolutely no idea how to talk to people. I just don't understand how a person can treat a total stranger with such disrespect. In our current economic situation of our country, we don't go out to dinner as much as we'd like. You know how many choices there are for food in this city, and we chose to visit Bianco's.

If I wasn't with my wife, I would have told this woman to go #@ck herself. There is no reason to treat customers like this when I am bringing my business and hard earned money to this restaurant. I spent over $95.00 on food and beverage, and it made me feel terrible that I was giving my money to such rude business owners. Like I mentioned before, the blonde woman (whom I later found out is the owner's wife) needs to take a class in common courtesy.

I'm not one to be rude to total strangers, but I'm from the school of respect. If you disrespect me, I'll call you out. This woman was horrible and embarrassed the restaurant she works for.

You should fire her immediately.

Thanks,

DG

Food Poisioning from Pizzeria Bianco

by MarieCutre at Citysearch

My wife and daughter got food poisioning from Pizzeria Bianco! I am very upset as I contacted the owners and they bluntly told me I was a liar.

I waited 4 hours to get food poisioning from their undercooked sausage!!!!!!!!!

Do not waste your money, your time or risk your families health. Stay away from Pizzeria Bianco and it's nasty, ungreatful, prideful owners.

If you don't mind being herded around like cattle, visit Biancos

We showed up at 5:30 for pizza at what was supposed to be a great experience at the renouned Bianco's. Renouned...? NOT. More like infamous. We gave our name to the name-taker guarding the restaurant entrance. She suggested we catch a movie, shop, whatever, as it would be 2 1/2 - 3 hours to wait. But, we could call to see if there were any openings. We called as our movie was ending and hurried over to the restaurant on the receptionist's encouragement. Got there and there are empty tables, but we are told we must wait another 20 - 30 minutes. I left. .. Not without complaining. The receptionist will tell you that you can get a drink, walk around, go to a movie, but that is a lie. You must remain at the site, panting in over 100 degree heat, until you are given the nod to enter. Not worth it under any circumstances. I can get good food a lot of places. Service still counts to me. Besides that place is so tiny, it is is uncomfortable.

  • Pros: Cute little houses in the area to look at if you want to see a few old buildings.
  • Cons: Not worth the wait or the rude service.

4 hour + wait

by PKMJ at Citysearch

We were visiting Phoenix for the spring baseball games and I read about this place online. Got there at 8:00 p.m. on a Friday to hear that there was a 4 HOUR+ wait. Eating dinner at midnight?! No thanks. No food is worth waiting that long for. When we were leaving, the very nice parking lot attendant said the wait had been FIVE hours long earlier. Unbelievable. He did say that we could have drinks and appetizers at the place next door, but after eating and drinking for hours, who would want pizza?

Avoid

by gretchend at Citysearch

Please don't waste your time going to this restaurant , you will be dissappointed ! My husband and I were watching Oprah and they had rated the number one pizza in phoenix so since we were going to be in phoenix I called to make a reservation I should have known how the service was going to be when i called I couldn't understand the hostess , I asked if I could make a reservation at 7:00 for 10 people she said they had nothing , so I hung up when I called back and asked if they had anything that week at 7 she said they didn't take reservations at 7 they only take at 5 ,6:30 and 8 , so I said okay 8 she said we will put you down for 8 but you probably won't get seated until 8:30 ...... should have said 6:30 and then seated me at 7!

So we get there , there is no parking , they have a lot for about 10 cars I am sure it was all employees !

So we finally get seated at 9:00 , I wanted diet pepsi they only have coke and ice tea wine and beer ! So i had ice tea ( no splenda ) if you are diabetic forget it . So we thought maybe the pizza will make up for it , forget it , paper thin , then we see a basket with bread we asked to buy a loaf or maybe 5 to take home they said no if was for people with salads , okay they close at 10 and you know they weren't going to use that night the basket was full . So we finish the pizza and we all get coffee ,when we asked for a second cup they said we could have but we had to take outside because they had people waiting to be seated , there wasn't anyone waiting outside ! Very rude ! Being an oner of two business's one being pizza , I wouldn't recommend this place if you want to taste the best pizza you will have to come to Steubenville Ohio and try Original DiCarlo's Pizza on Adam Street !

Is a rude hostess part of the ambience? 6:30 Tuesday Oct 23

by rasp57 at Citysearch

With a friend from out of town we made the trip to Pizzeria Bianco. 6:30 October 23 We asked for a table for two and were told it was a 2 and 1/2 hour wait. I said "with a James beard award it must be worth a two hour wait." I thought this was a complement. The hostess in the most rude and snide tone said "if your going to be insulting, get your facts right, the award was four years ago." I said "I guess we'll try this another night" . Her response was "I didn't think you would wait." The pizza may be good but this place should be avoided.

I went to La Grande L'orange had a great pizza with an apple and pecan salad with amazing service. The Sonoran Mandarin heiffenwizer beer was to die for. LGO, Oreganos or Uno's are the places for Pizza depending on what you have a taste for.

Poor customer service. Don't bother waiting.

by dracheotes at Citysearch

We arrived 15 min after the restaraunt opened and were informed there was an hour and a half to two hour wait. So, we reluctantly waited in the bar area. After an hour and a half, we asked the bar waitress to check on our status, she refused. She stated "she's usually right on when she quotes a time." Well, after two hours of giving our name, we asked ourselves, and were told it would be another 40 min. No way! NO pizza is worth that wait. I am from Boston, and have eaten wonderful pizza in the North End with no wait at all. This place is overrated, over priced and the staff are extremely rude.

Needless to say, we left without ordering anything except overpriced drinks and average foccacia "grilled cheese" appetizer.
