Very Disappointing & Website Info is very outdated and wrong
by AzrielTheVampyre
We had high expectations after reading the reviews on City Search... unfortunately, they were quickly squashed... The information on this site for this bar is very out of date... It does NOT open at 5 pm anymore.... It opens at 6:00 pm... so when we got there just after 5:00 we were politely told to come back.. we went next door to Cowboy's and had a drink and went back after 6:00 pm. They also do NOT have happy hour any more... so no specials. We were seated at a table and when we asked if we could move to a couch, the staff said they were all reserved [the place was nearly empty at the time]... and after a bit of prodding they did let us move to a couch. The atmosphere is nice.. the couches comfy and the wine good.... based on the recommedation online we also tried to the flatbread pizza. It was also good. As noted on the site it is dark inside.. which I liked. However, the music was too loud and was not the right style for people to have casual conversation.. It turned into more of a loud dance club type sound and we had to almost shout or be right up in the face of the person if you wanted to be heard. Parking is also hard to find, but is manageable. Also as noted, finding the place is hard.. there is NO sign on the door that says the place's name... It's like a barn door in the back alley.. kind cool once you know you're in the right place... but tricky to find the 1st time. Overall, I'd say the staff was not very friendly and after having high expectations from reading the online reviews, we were very disappointed. I won't make the effort to go back.
- Pros: nice wine selection
- Cons: staff was not friendly; music too loud and not the right style for this type atmosphere

Plush, Dark, Romantic and Jazzy

Gotta love Monday night jam sessions!
Great for groups if you can get a good sofa.
Romantic for two if you sit anywhere.
- Pros: Funky Fun Jazz Jam Sessions
- Cons: Parking is tough, they have a cover charge, even if you are there to play.
Avoid at all costs!!!

If you are looking for a place to go and spend lots of money only to wait long periods of time for anything ordered while the bar is practically empty then you have found a winner! The service was crappy and the management was even worse! All of the staff members acted as if they were being put out by waiting on us....and believe me we are NOT picky people to be waited on. All we required was a round of drinks, but even the simplest request was a huge task. I was shocked because it is supposed to be a trendy place to go in Scottsdale but I will never return and neither will any of my friends if I can help it!
- Pros: excellent wine
- Cons: service, employee knowledge of wine, prices
smokiest, 20 to 30 year old, wine bar in Scottsdale
by rogridge
Very dark and dissapointing smokie bar that has attracted the 20 to 30 year old crowd, which alway marks the beginning of the end. Wine list is only for show with most bottles priced far above $50.00. No wonder most people were drinking martini's and beer. I'd rather go to the grocery store and spend $13.00 for the same bottle of wine and drink at home where I don't have to wear a respirator. In all seriousness, save yourself the $10 valet parking (after tip) and go to one of the many North Scottsdale wine bars that offer excellent wine at a reasonable price without the smoke and noise.
- Pros: Great location in the heart of Scottsdale
- Cons: 20 to 30 year old smoker's dream bar.
Brilliant!

The wine, the cheese, the appetizers, this is an amazing wine bar and a great place to start your evening or stay all night. Great for a group of friends or a date.
- Pros: The wine list, prices range from $15 a bottle to $2000
- Cons: Price, dark, crowded (not necessarily bad...)
More than 1,800 wines from around the world make this bar a global experience.

In Short
Wooden wine casks line the walls, softly bathed in candlelight, like a European wine cave. Plush sofas in deep-burgundy hues encourage lingering conversations over one of the 1,850 types of wine. Wine novices and aficionados alike should consult the Nifty Fifty list to narrow down the impressive selection. Inexpensive wine flights are available and the specialty martini menu is worth a read. Try a unique Egyptian flatbread pizza to round out the experience.
Wine Happy Hour
by fkagie
If you ar looking for a great place to deink wine at happy hour, try this one. It's not for the 2 buck chuck crowd, with it's very large array of upscale wines and Egyptian breads. It gets busier and louder later in the evening. If you want a great place to take a close freind for HH, try it might like it.
- Pros: Exceptional wine list, Full Bar
- Cons: No HH prices
Swank and Suave
by geoffinca
Kazimierz (spelled wrong elsewhere on this site) is very different than any bar I have ever been to. The plush couches, intimate tables and low light creat a mysterious mood. Wines from all over the world. The staff is knowlegeable. Service is a little slow, but this is not a place you rush in and rush out of. The fondu and bread pudding are to die for.
- Pros: Knowlegeable Staff, Large wine selection, Trendy atmosphere
- Cons: Difficult to find
Amazing place!
by kinstah
An amazing place to sit and chill with your close friends. Dark lighting, good world music, comfy couches.. and amazing wine. What more could you ask for?
- Cons: A bit Steep!
