It was my mother's birthday. We try to go to new places a few times a year. This time I called & made reservations after reading reviews at various websites. This was spectacular from the moment we walked in to the time I paid the bill. They had a great wine selection. The food was WONDERFUL & full of flavor. The presentation (which Mom likes) exceeded expectations. The proportions were generous. The ambience was quirky modern contemporary. I would recommend this to anyone without reservations or qualifications. I can't wait to go back!! Mom wants to go back also!!

Pros: Food & Service & Wine Selections FANTASTIC

Cons: Parking is a bit challenging

First -The location is near impossible to find parking but we managed to grab a rock star spot out front. Second – The door is the size of most people’s bedroom wall and it’s all glass. When you open it towards you the opposite side pushes inside. It’s hard to explain. But imagine you pull on the door towards you and there is someone on the other side but on the opposite end of the door. If you pull the door hard and fast enough, the person on the other end would be launched like a racquetball. Remember the door is a big tinted glass wall. It’s actually pretty funny how dangerous it is. Anyway, we enter without managing to launch someone to their death. There are 2 people in front of us and the hostess sent them to the bar because they don’t have reservations and it will be a few hours.. We say “2 for dinner” and she asks us if we have reservations and we say no. She cringes and then she thinks, excuses herself and comes back and seats us at a table. It looks like the people it front us got screwed..lol. So the place is really swanky and fun. Great place for girl’s night out dinners, or date night, etc..dressy, hip, everyone is pretty, electronica music, etc... First they give us this soft bread with ricotta butter and pesto/basil dipping oil. Oh my god..it was like a calming bubble bath. Utopia! My friend ordered the steak (Pepper crusted new york strip, boursin whipped potatoes, cabernet red wine sauce) and I think she had an "o" right at the table!. I had Spiral pasta, baby shrimp, mushroom caps, chopped tomatoes, sherry cream. It was worth every bite. By far the best restaurant in Phoenix so far.

Furio came highly recommended, so I made reservations when I found myself in the area. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed by both the food and service. I started with the grilled pear salad with gorgonzola and mixed greens. The salad was underdressed, the pears tasted burned, and feta cheese had been substituted for gorgonzola, which totally changed the dish. For my entrée, I had the truffle gnocchi with lobster, which sounded amazing on the menu but was served floating in a pool of oily orange grease and tasted virtually flavorless. My friend seemed happy with her New York steak entrée, but maintained that her first course of soft-shelled crab was overcooked and saturated with oil. I can only say that the mediocrity of the food was surpassed by the ridiculous lack of service. We were one of only 3 tables in the entire dining room, and it still took us almost 3 hours to power through the meal. One table that sat down 20 minutes after us had completed their meal and paid the check before we had even received our main courses. At one point, our server handed off the dessert menus and then left for almost 15 minutes. When we finally ordered and then received the wrong desserts, he unprofessionally explained that he had been needing to “light a fire under the pantry chef lately.” I agree if that this is what passes for fine dining in the Phoenix area, then god help ‘em. I was unimpressed with the food and appalled at the flippant lack of service. Will never return.

Pros: nice ambiance; decent wine list

Cons: mediocre food for the money; flippant, virtually nonexistent service

I have been frequenting Furio since 2002. I honestly can say that I have only had 1 (one) mediocre meal, and that was probably in 2003. At one point, I was eating there about once/week. I've utilized Furio for small, romantic meals, large groups, and parties with 100+ people. The Beef Tenderloin Bruschetta is truly amazing; the NY Strip, it's sauce and potatoes are so homey and comforting. The Chicken & Roquefort Risotto is melt in your mouth delicious! Jagger, the executive chef, does care and is imaginative. He once prepared a special Fois Grois whole TRIO just for us; just for asking! You can't go wrong. The prices are NOT high. It's comfortable, fun, upscale and consistent.

Pros: Loungy, Great Decor; Great Food, Personable

Cons: Menu Stays the Same for a while

Every time I visit Phoenix from Chicago I go out of my way to visit Furio. I've never had a bad meal whether it's during prime tourist season or off summertime. Our last visit included an amazing chocolate fondue preceded by my old favorite, the herb-crusted chicken. I love it!

Pros: Location and staff

Cons: Busy on some nights

A bunch of us were visiting Phoenix for the first time and went here on a recommendation from some locals. We were encouraged by the atmosphere, but the food was 100% MEDIOCRE. Bland, unimaginative, and WAY overpriced. Our server was aloof and unknowledgable. If this is what Phoenix locals think of as fine dining, I cry for thee.

Pros: Clubby atmosphere

Cons: Lame food, Overpriced, Poor service

by the looks of the exterior, you'd never expect the ambience inside this place. everything was just right - the mirrors, the lights, and the general layout. the beef tenderloin bruschetta was melt-in-your-mouth GOOD and the desserts were a steal. we tried 3 (tiramisu, creme brulee, and roasted banana gelato) for only 7 bucks! extensive martini menu, too. we'd definitely go again!

Pros: price, ambience, dessert

My girlfriends and I went to Furio for the FLIGHT NIGHT offered onThurs. evening. We had a great time and the wines were perfectly paired with the food offerings. The music was a great addition the vibet, and we couldn't imagine a more hip place to hang out and gab. Our server was extra sweet, and the owners checked in with each and every table. Very cool touch!

Pros: service, wine selection, atmosphere

The NY Strip Steak was so tender. It literally melted in my mouth. I still think about that steak. The service was a bit slow. I had to get up a few times to get my drink at the bar because the waitress kept forgetting to bring my drink. I was with a large party so would definitely go again but with a very small group.

Pros: great food, great ambiance

Cons: Slow service
