Best outside of Santa Fe!
by reinman
Blue Adobe is NEW MEXICAN cuisine. Carne adovada is the benchmark for New Mexican cuisine, and Blue Adobe has the best outside New Mexico so far. Not as good as my ex-girlfriend's mother's near Espa?ola or the Plaza Cafe in Santa Fe, but DARN CLOSE. Go to the Mesa location for the real deal!!
You'll see New Mexico locals/transplants here all the time, you can tell by the Albuquerque/UNM gear. (GO LOBOS!) Service is spot-on, and the restaurant has a familiar atmosphere with simple wooden furniture. They also have a few top shelf tequilas for sipping. Portions are perfect, and you might even end up taking some home if you don't bring an appetite. Lots of scrumptious dishes!
If you've got some out-of-town friends who want to try some DELICIOUS southwestern cooking without pretentiousness, this is the place. It can get busy at dinner, so arrive early dinner or late afternoon for optimal service.
Great southwestern food!

We have been to the one in Scottsdale twice. The food and service was great each time. I love the Chicken pasta!
- Pros: Food, parking, service
- Cons: Lighting out on patio of Scottsdale location
Best steaks
by carhulmyers
My husband and I went there for our 5 year anniversary. The staff is awesome our drinks never go less then half full. We made reservations and got right in. We had steak and it was the best steak that I had ever eaten. I highly recommend it to everyone that I know.
- Pros: food, service, atmosphere
- Cons: very busy
Blue Seafood Enchiladas!
by akinphx
I loved the free chips and smoky flavored salsa to start. The 1800 margaritas could have used a little more 1800, they were a little too sweet and not enough of the good stuff. Our meal was FABULOUS! Blue seafood enchiladas we so great and were a good sized portion. Most of the time you walk out of a Mexican food feeling hopelessly bloated, but I felt great. My fiancée has the Chimi Grande, which lived up to its name in its monumental proportion. He walked out with half in the box. I loved the food, service and atmosphere. I can't wait to go back.
- Pros: Cool chalkboard for specials, chips and salsa are great
- Cons: Very open, not very intimate setting
Gourmet Southwestern food at an affordable price.

In Short
This casually upscale restaurant features a small but thoughtful wine list, sophisticated menu and affordable cuisine. The menu is also balanced with Southwestern-style Blue Plate specials and pasta plates listed on the right, and New Mexican offerings, called adobe plates, listed on the left. Don't miss the Tucumcari tenderloin topped with jalapeno sauce and served with chipotle pasta, green chile potato and garlicky vegetables.
All Around Great

My boyfriend and I ended up receiving a coupon for this restaurant and thought why not try it because we are always up for trying new places. The exterior doesn't look like much but once you get into the establishment, it is great. The service was great, prices are good, and the food was excellent! They were very quick to bring out our order and the presentation and qaulity of food was wonderful. It is good for families, groups, or just if you are dinning for two. I definitely recommend this place!
- Pros: Service, Quality of Food, Price
One of the best in AZ, period!

- Pros: Inexpensive, High Quality, Not the Norm!
HORRIBLE experience
by atpanda
I'd heard nothing but good things about Blue Adobe, so my husband and I decided to try it out. We received NO service (I actually had to go find a waitress after waiting 10 minutes), our appetizer took 20 minutes to find us, our meals took another 15, then were someone else's food, the busboy snatched it out from right under my full fork, 10 minutes more and our dinner arrived and my salmon was COMPLETELY RAW! It took me over 10 minutes to finally find my waitress to let her know that my food was inedible. During all of this, we were not even offered chips and salsa to hold us over, and even though the cost of my meal was waived, we paid $70! We will NEVER go back to the Blue Adobe.
