What Our Expert Scouts Say

Hotel Valley Ho
April 05, 2013

We felt like Mad Men extras staying here--the decor is spot on, the vibe is old fashioned swanky-sexy, and the pool is a non-stop party. Rooms are darling--retro decor, high end amenities, and starlet-worthy patios framed by bougainvillea vines.

Tips for Hotel Valley Ho

I got a great deal on a room from a promotion they had on facebook, and loved the hotel! Really cool, retro rooms with a great bed and really nice shower and bath. They have a great pool area too, it was pretty crowded, but that's expected in Arizona. The restaurant and the bar have great food and drinks. Plus its a perfect located with so many great places nearby, We loved our stay-cation there and will definitely be coming back!

Awful hotel. Lousy security, terrible customer service. Worst hotel experience in my life. First night was great, on the second night, my boyfriend and I were awakened at 4:30am by a burglar digging through one of our bags at the end of our bed. The guy ran out the patio and jumped the 4ft wall, never to be seen again. Security came, said they circle the grounds twice per hour and documented our patio door at midnight. We asked why they didn't just call us to tell us the door was open since it was a big enough issue for them to document - they had no answer. The guy who checked us out was aware of the incident and said nothing about it until we mentioned it. He comped us a $30 lunch as an afterthought and said the director of security wanted to talk to us. The security director was confrontational, defensive, and aggressive to talk to, he actually got up in my face. He had nothing to say except - well, we cannot predict the future. It was bad enough waking up to a burglar in our room, but the way the hotel staff handled the situation was inexcusable. The hotel is unsafe and the customer service is absolutely atrocious. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

Don't believe the Hype!!!!!. Don't believe the hype. This place is NOT at all romantic. I can be a fun and enjoyable place but not romantic unless the only place you've ever stayed the night is a motel 6 or some budget place.

OK for the price. It's ok. The prices are pretty fair for the location. Great place if you like to party & club hop, due to it's close proximity to local shopping, bars, restaurants & clubs.

The service here leaves much to be desired.

This place is trying very hard to be swanky, but just misses the mark for me.

Awesome!. Hotel makes you feel like you are a movie star. The staff is so kind, always smiling. Room's are super unique, with cool furniture and extremely comfortable beds. Linens felt clean and fresh. Pool is so fun! They have pool side service, great lounge chairs. Fabulous drinks and music. The food at cafe zuzu is definitely comfort food, very rich... But well prepared, and priced perfectly. Actually I thought the prices were lower then the quality, I really enjoyed the food and was shocked at how inexpensive it was. I can't wait to go again.

Best Hotel in Scottsdale. This place is awesome, I have so many raves and not one thing to rant about. Location is walking distance to all the bars and restaurants nearby, totally convenient. They have a 'beautiful people' type of crowd in the lounge and fun dining on property. They rooms were large and had great touches like plasma television, free internet and very nice bathrooms. Don't miss the pool scene. Highly recommend.
