Fianlly a real Italian restaurant in Scottsdale. Bel Sito is like a back street restaurante/Trattoria in Rome or Florence. The atmosphere is very impressive, red walls and art work. The live music just improves the atmosphere, this is truly an elagant romantic place. It is tucked into a back courtyard off of 5th Avenue. You can actually sit outside and NO CARS will be seen or smelled. The professional wait staff is small but very attentive and knowledgeable. The owners wife acts as the Maitrede and makes you feel at home. The owner chef comes out from time to time and insures everyones meal was up to their standards. Food?? This is not your regular Italian restaurant where everything is homegenous,glutinated and served in troths. The appetizers, soups and salads are well done with many twists. Memorable was the Spinache, Gorgonzola e Noci with the Vin Santo dressing . Some of the dishes are plated from a serving cart, a nice touch for sure. The pasta and main couse menu is diverse and tasty. I would have to say there are very few negatives at this wonderful establishment. If there is a negative I would have to say that the wine offering, altough very fairly priced was not kept under refrigeration. Arizona summers will not allow these wonderful gifts from Italy to survive. I am sure this negative will be rectified quickly. Remember the owners just moved from Detroit. Pricing is on the higher end of the spectrum but well worth every penny as this is truly a culinary experience.
