Unprofessional and unreliable – We obtained several quotes from different companies to move everythint we own from Phoenix to Las Vegas. Although they were not the lowest quote we chose Midnight Movers because John seemed really nice over the phone and told us they were really struggling for business (now I understand why!).
I have a bad back so I requested full service (which includes disassembling, loading, unloading and re-assembling the furniture). We went over every item we have in the house and he promise everything would be moved. I told him I got a quote a bit cheaper and he matched it and offered wardrobe boxes for free. He was so nice that I had to choose them.
They showed up one hour and a half late, John never called or picked up the phone during that time. We were concerned because we had to move that day and had given a $500 deposit. We were told they weren't provided with boxes and with a 24-foot truck instead of a 27-foot truck, so they say it was actually better because they wouldn't be able to fit everything in. We tipped them $100.
Because of the delay we had to leave them the key and we were promised everything would go. They arrived the next morning and told us they had loaded everything except some clothes (which was OK). They unloaded everything in about 6 hours. Our suede couches were dirty (it costs $350 to clean them) and our clothes were dusty and wrinkled.
We were running errands all day and when we came back they said they were finished. We gave them a check for the balance and another $100 tip. After they left we realized they had NOT re-assemble all the furniture. We have two bedroom sets and they only re-assembled one. They did not re-assemble our entertainment center (even when we helped re-assembling the couches).
Back to the old house my spouse noticed they had not taken everything. They had not left some clothes, they left MOST of our clothes and many small items that could have easily fit in the moving truck.
I called John for two days and placed a hold on the check we gave them. He called and I explained the situation, his response was "What would you like me to do?" (seriously). I told him we expected the service that was promised to be delivered. He told me there was a truck going to Flagstaff that could be used to transport the rest of our stuff and we would only have to pay for the cost: $600!!!
I would recommend NOT using this company, there are so many out there.
Greatest Movers – I looked at the reviews here before deciding whether or not to hire Midnight Movers for my recent move. I called and spoke with John about the bad reviews and confirmed the hourly rate, date and time and after much assurance, decided to use them. The experience only got better!! Knowing I had concerns, John told me the name of the head mover (Mark) and even had him call me - classy! The movers called when they were 20 minutes out and were on time! Mark and Mike worked hard and non-stop. They were personable, very contientious of my belongings and overall made me more than pleased that this is the moving company I chose. I am not sure how to explain the other reviews that were negative but I can tell you that my experience was perfect and I would have no problem referring them to anyone nor using them again!
horrible service, can't be on time – I used the Midnight Movers recently. Made an appointment for 6 p.m. The mover did not call until 5:30p.m. to inform me that he doesn't know the address despite that I have already provided my address at the time of scheduling the move. At 6:30 He said he might be late. At 7:30 he said he can't do it anymore today because he did not have enough people to do the move. I said anytime tonight, even midnight. He never called back. I tried to follow up several times, but it's always the voice message. The company is irresponsible and not trustworthy. If they can't handle the volume, they should not make empty promise and schedule the move at the first place.
They may not realize the inconvenience they have caused. I had rescheduled my flight and rescheduled my appointment in order to get home waiting for them all night
DO NOT use the midnight movers, you will regret forever! – I used the Midnight Movers to move from my house at Paradise Valley to my newly purchased property at Fountain Hills. We specifically told the Midnight movers that we have a pool table and some expensive furnitures. They two movers, and one of them is lazy and very inexperienced. They damaged my European furniture and scratched my gorgeous Italian Bellissimo cocktail table. They said they will fix the little damage. I was very understanding as I assumed that sometimes things like that do happen and the movers assured me all we have to do is apply a little bit of paint and he can do it. However, he never came back to fix the damaged furniture. I called the company's owner as well as several other schedulers/managers of the company. They always find excuses and refuse to do anything for me. More importantly, the movers left my pool table in the garage and damaged my pool table very badly. They said they will come back another day to move the pool table (as I have already paid in full for their services), but never did that. Now, after 1 month + from the move, I'm still struggling to find someone at the Midnight Mover to talk to and my pool table is still in the garage(in light of AZ's hot weather), damaged.
I initially picked this company because they were nice over the phone, has a nice website, and offered a decent rate (through not the cheapest, but sounded reasonable), and they said they will take care of the pool table. However, they did neither. They can't keep up their words and can't be punctual. Lastly, when I paid for the move, it turned out their estimation over the phone was way off, and I ended up paying more than I expected and than to comparable companies for subpar service.
I am extremely unsatisfied with this company. I rarely write negative reviews, this is the first one. The conduct of this company and how they do business is absolutely ridiculous. Avoid them as you surely do not want to end in my situation.
If you need help or need additional information, please feel free to contact me. I know learned how difficult it is when you have horrible customer service. I thought it won't occur if I treat people well, compensate fairly (if not generously), and pick a what appears to be a "good" company.
I wish I have read Mr. Randy J. Knors review earlier and find out about CItysearch before book with Midnight Movers! I guess I still didn't do enough research.
Beware of Midnight Movers – I had Midnight movers move me from AZ to SC well they pickup the furniture. and left without me signing any paper work. they did not take an inventory or all of my things however that turned out OK.
They delivered my belongings one full week late and no phone calls to up date me as to why I had to make 20 to 30 calls to find out what was going on.
Upon arrival there was damages for about $3200 dollars which almost 6 months latter I have not received the funds to repair to damages.
Very Flexible! – My closing date for my house I was moving out of changed from one day to the next, making it very difficult to figure out when I could actually move. Midnight Movers was extremely accomodating and flexible. I had to cancel a couple of times and felt horrible for doing so. But they were very understanding and showed concern with the stress that I had with the sale of my home. It was great not to have to worry about the move in addition to everytrhing else.
When it came time to actually move, they showed up that night, hours after the sale went through and I got the keys to my new home. The movers were very professional and did an excellent job at what I thought was a very reasonable price.
UNRELIABLE – I booked them 1 month in advance for Sunday the 18th. I called the Thursday before and asked if it could be pushed up to Saturday. I was told "no problem, we're wide open". I chose 10am. On Friday they asked if they could push me back to 2pm. No problem i said. At ONE PM on Saturday they tell me they are on a really big job and need to move me to Sunday!!! Are you kidding? Me: "Because you agreed to move me to Saturday I made arrangements and need to be out of my apartment TODAY" Them: "Okay let me call you right back, we might have to do it around 6pm" Me: " I don't care what time it is.. you're supposed to be 24 hours??" Needless to say the jerks never called me "right back" I called him at 4:30 to tell them i had found other movers. THANK GOD! They put me in a bad spot and i wouldn't wish that on anyone. Irresponsible - Unreliable - Unprofessional and Unorganized. I wouldn't recommend them to ANYONE!
Moving made easy!!! – First off, I don't normally write reviews but I do believe that those who do a good job should be acknowledged and there aren't that many these days.
I had been disappointed by 2 other local moving companies, so I decided to try Midnight Movers.
Same move and they did it quicker and cheaper. They proactively called me back and offered an online discount without me needing to haggle and negotiate.
The movers were very efficient which I liked and didn't need me to hurry them up. They were true professionals.
I highly recommend it and hope you have the same experience.
Great customer service – This company saved me at the last minute. All the guys were very polite. The moving guys were very nice, quick, but careful at the same time. The price was great too!!! I ended up saving money too.
