Awesome Food, Friendly Bar and KARAOKE. This little resturant and "cantina" is very family friendly. A full selection of appitizers, sandwiches, salads, mexican, american and more. Fantastic wings, awesome breakfast, prime rib is good on saturdays. The owners do a ton of work with "Gift from Riley" and other community based organizations. Karaoke with Steve & Sharon of QC-Entertainment on Saturday nights. Great place, Jo, Tom or Andy, the owners are always onsite and open to introduce themselves.

Skippy's Homey Environment. As you walk into Skippy's, you immediately feel the warmth of the enjoyable atmosphere. The room has wonderful decorations and a nice, laid-back feel. The walls are lined with tin wallpaper, picture frames of horses and riders, Mexican hats, and landscapes of beautiful scenery. The happiness rings in a general aura. You get this feeling of kind of rough, life's life feel. Like you can bring all your problems with you to the restaurant and lay them out. Here at Skippy's you are family and accepted.

The tables were waited on within a minute of sitting down, and the service was admirable. The waitress who was assigned our table showed friendliness and used wonderful manners. While we were waiting for a very short time, there were definitely enough interesting things to look at and keep you busy. All of the authentic decorations and characteristic customers provide wonderful engagements for attention. I couldn't quite find a general theme of the decorations, however I really like that about it! The collage of different themed wall decorations contributes to the homey, non-professional feel. It

Jimmy Buffet bar and grill in the desert. Great quaint Jimmy Buffet bar & grill in the desert.

Clean, well decorated ,friendly staff, owners were on duty, this is my second visit. I ordered a french dip and salad, then took a T-shirt to go. Put this on your list of places to stop. SW corner Power/Chandler Heights.

New Management, better everything. Skippy's is the best Mexican, American, & Italian food in the neighborhood. With the new ownership the prices are lower, the service is sit down, the menu is expanded, desserts are great and the servers are as friendly as ever. They have a terrific burger, a killer salad and some really great new Italian dishes. The game is on but the sound is low & the atmosphere is family friendly. It's worth a second look since the ownership has changed. We liked it before so all the great changes are a great added bonus for us!

Why bother?. With hundreds of great Mexican restaurants in the Valley, why bother with Skippy's? It's just not that great. You can get a fantastic mexian dinner just a few miles away. . . for less! It seems like a fast food joint, but wasn't fast.

red chili con carne!!. Dropped in to Skippy's with a few friends for a birthday meal. Prices are a little high. It looks like a normal restaurant, but you have to go to the front counter to order, which I thought was a little odd. They give you a number and then the waitress brings you your food. Drinks must be ordered at the counter as well, and then you take them back to your table. Seemed a little odd that a soda cost the same as the beer. There is a little chip bar off to the side where you can help yourself to as much chips and salsa as you want. Don't fill up too much though, the portions are hearty. Since it was our first time at Skippy's, the waitress brought us some samples of the red and green chile con carne. The red was absolutely delicious. Most chile con carne I have eaten is made with ground beef, but this was made with steak. This motivated me to order the red chile con carne tostada with a beef taco and rice/beans. The rice and beans were delicious, as was the shredded beef taco. If you are looking for cheap eats, this might not be the place. Otherwise, very satisfying. Waitresses were very nice.
