Once a month, the downtown gallery district draws swarms of art lovers into the streets for a full-contact artistic experience. More than a dozen galleries display their latest and most innovative works--each more original than the last. DJs spin on lawns and street corners and musicians play and cruise around like strolling minstrels. The mingling crowd is diverse with academics, activists, aficionados and couples craving a date that beats dinner and a movie.
