Tapino's Kitchen and Wine Bar is OUTRAGEOUS!!!.
This place is awesome! Two years ago, we were visiting Scottsdale on vacation. As lovers of good food and wine, we noticed Tapino and walked to the door to peek inside. The media manager, Wendy, opened the door and invited us inside, even though she knew we'd already eaten elsewhere.
It was her kindness that brought us back to Tapino. Now that we live in the area, we've been back many times with friends and visitors who never stop talking about the wonderful dining experience.
The food is creative, and delicious with unbelievable pairings of the best wine list in the valley. The creativity of owner and Executive Chef James and his staff, who glide around the kitchen creating the eloquent offerings of flavors that burst in your mouth with every bite, is unsurpassed in quality and taste.
We've never been disappointed. The well informed staff who know every detail about the menu items, and which wine to select with the offering . . . right down to the young man who refills the water glass . . . are helpful, warm, and friendly. It's just like being with family. The ambiance is delightful, and the food is downright delectable!
If you haven't been to this restaurant, you owe it to yourself to make a reservation. We love it, and can't wait to go back again! Carolyn Hughey
Not your typical fine dining. My wife and I were turned on to trying out Topino by a colleague?s recommendation. She was absolutely correct in that the food in extraordinary. The menu does not consist of traditional main courses, but rather many different appetizer type courses. It is definitely high-end gourmet prepared to perfection. The atmosphere is nice, service is good, our waiter knowledgeable, especially in wines, which I would expect from a fine dining establishment. The wine list is extensive, and includes unusual hard to get wines. Our waiter had recommended a 2004 Musar Cuvee Rough from the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon. This exceptional wine can easily be mistaken for a fine French Bordeaux. The courses range roughly from $6 to $15 each. You will probably want to order three selections per person since they are ?gourmet? portions. The only clincher I have with Topino is the wine prices, which are on the high side. A $50 bottle of wine in the restaurant may well be $15 at an online wine store. Wish they were more reasonable in that department.
You're Going to Want to Keep Coming Back. This is the kind of place you're going to keep coming back to. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is amazing, the service is just right. Tapino one of those places where making reservations at OpenTable online is a huge benefit. Tapino can record what food you had and which tapas or dishes you want to have again the next time you visit. Not only that, my favorite bottle of wine is ready for me when I come in, and I earn points when I reserve online so that I can eat there again for free. Doesn't get any better than that!
Wonderful local restaurant supporting the community.
I was lucky enough to attend Fancy Feast, a spectacular fund-raising dinner arranged by Paw Placement at Tapino! I was very impressed with the tapas, they kept bringing more & more out! Each course was great, the atmosphere was fun, the waitstaff was courteous & kept the glasses full. In addition to the great food, a wonderful silent auction and raffle was held to raise money for animal rescue. Thank you, Tapino, for hosting this great event & giving back to the community. I will recommend your restaurant to everyone!

Tapino Wine Bar & Kitchen is my new ?favorite? restaurant.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tapino Wine Bar & Kitchen. The experience was absolutely wonderful. I critique a restaurant on the following:
>Food ? taste, presentation, creativity and use of ingredients
>Service ? level of sophistication of the sever, knowledge of the menu, and attention to my needs
>Atmosphere ? quality of flatware, stemware, and overall ambiance
Tapino Wine Bar & Kitchen delivered high quality gourmet tapas that were succulent, chic, and innovative. I would compare the quality of my meal with Binkley?s, Methode, Vincent?s on Camelback, or Sophie?s Bistro ? but at a much better value. If you?re a foodie like me you want to sample the entire menu. At Tapino Wine Bar & Kitchen you can! The prices are very reasonable and portions are small but satisfying.
Tapino Wine Bar & Kitchen also has a covered patio/ lounge. It?s great to be able to take your drink outside after the meal and schmooze with the Chef. If you are in Phoenix, visiting or a resident I challenge you to find a better restaurant to patron.
Tapino Wine Bar & Kitchen is my new ?favorite? restaurant. I am going to be dining there again tonight?
Best food and atmosphere. WOW! What a great place to relax, taste wine and try some fun food! My wife and I stopped in after a friend told us we have to check it out, and we loved every minute. The service was excellent, the food was mazing and we felt at home immediately. We know a lot about wine, and were impressed with the wine list. This is a great place to have dinner for two or meet a bunch of friends. We're regulars now!
Great food, bad experience. So a couple weeks ago, me and my husband went to Tapino for the first time, greeted by and older woman and sat by a hostess. First off, she tried to put us in the back of the resturant on a small table, and when we asked to move to a bigger table she just about refused (the resturant was wide open). Eric took care of us, and food was fantastic. We ended our evening out with a glass of wine in the bar, and noticed the older woman who greeted us, was well on her way to drunking a glass of wine, getting louder and louder with every sip of wine. I dont know why such a resturant would have a manager work there making a scene as she did, but after seeing that we will most likely not return
Great Happy Hour.
We love this spot for dinner, and for happy hour. We try to get there every couple weeks at least.
Delicious tapas, great wine selection and good prices.
A wonderful bar and restaurant totally ruined by chain smokers.. Excellent location in Scottsdale with great food, drinks and service. It's a shame that it's all ruined by smokers.
Incredible textures, flavors, and eye candy.. 35th Anniversary - what to do? Where to eat? Where have we had the most fun and best food and wine ever? Well, Tapino's in Scottsdale. Yes, let's go. Fly to Scottsdale in July for dinner? Well, as long as it's both nights, OK. What a GREAT place to celebrate.
