Tips for Tommy's Bistro

The best restaurant & bar in Casa Grande, maybe even in AZ. I went to this place a few months after they opened, then took my wife there a few days later. It quickly became our Cheers...I even have a drink named after me there now. Unfortunately, we recently moved to Phx so our visits are less frequent. We do still make a point of stopping in at Tommy's whenever we are in the CG area.

The owners, Tommy & Patty, are great people and have completely remade the place from the deli called Bandanas that used to be there. Tommy has been doing pretty much all the renovations by hand, and has now remodeled the place with a huge indoor & outdoor bar. Lots of TV's for sports, plenty of beers on tap including some that are hard to find. They tell me that they are planning on adding an additional tap system soon that will be specifically for micro-brews from around the country.

The executive chef Benny is fantastic in the kitchen and always makes a point to come out to say hello and chat. The American / Italian menu is top notch across the board with a good range of pricing. I've probably been here 40 times and have never once had a bad meal -- from wings to pizza to pasta to veal etc.

Try the Bruchetta first. I have taken friends & family here on a number of occassions and everybody says it's the best Bruchetta they have ever had at any restaurant.

The restaurant also hosts a monthly wine dinner where Tommy creates a menu specifically paired to certain wines. You get a top-notch four or five course meal with 4 or 5 glasses of wine for $60-$80 per COUPLE. That's a bargain, people. There's even a rep from the wine distributor there to talk about the wines and answer questions.

This restaurant is worth the drive from Phoenix or Tucson.
