Award-winning steaks and first class service make for a four-star dining experience. – In Short
Richness and warmth radiate from the plush leather seating and mahogany trim. Whether patrons prefer the filet mignon or a 24-ounce porterhouse, the dry-aged beef is guaranteed to please, and is the cornerstone of a menu that also features hand-cut chops and fresh seafood. With more than 400 selections, the wine list is very impressive.
Works for small group for Holiday Luncheon... – Who knew it would be so crowded two weeks before Christmas, at lunch? But, the food was great, steaks to order, and service pretty darn good for having a full house. I've not ever had an unpleasant dining experience at The Capital Grille. It's a favorite!
Customer Service Needs Big Improvement! – The food was great (especially the lobster bisque) but they can definitely use improve on customer service. Went there with a couple of international guests for a dinner, thinking we would impress them with the great food, wine and service. Well, at least we got 2 out of the 3 since the waiter forgot my steak! My meal finally came out after everyone almost were done with theirs!! You would think the manager would come by and apologize for the mistake or comp a desert on the house.....NOPE! Would I go back? Probably not because I can get far better service at Morton's or Ruth Chris.
Fine Dining and Outstanding Service – A recent visit on a Saturday evening to the Capital Grille in Phoenix turned out to be enjoyable, satisfying, delectable and pleasant for our party of three. The atmosphere is upscale elegant, the staff uniforms are white linen and black slacks making for an impressive outing for entertaining a friend or client. Our server, Jennifer Smith, took unbelievably wonderful care of us, from explaining the menu to suggestions on the wine list. She was attentive but not bothersome, allowing us to enjoy our meal and conversation while never having to look for her to refill a glass. The food was well prepared, unique and generously portioned. I enjoyed the dry aged porterhouse, my wife had the chef special delmonico and our guest enjoyed the filet mignon. We enjoyed sides of the chefs special mashed potatoes and broccolini. We started with the Wedge salad (outstanding!) and a mixed green salad with house dressing. Our appetizer was an interesting capicola wrapped cheese, and for desert we shared the strawberries and vanilla bean custard and their version or a triple chocolate fudge cake - a wedge big enough to feed a small village. Jennifer shared wine recommendations with me, and upon request brought out a special list by the glass, where I found a terrific merlot that retails for $150 a bottle, sold by the glass for $19 - an incredible value and just the ticket with the dry aged red beef. We sat and indulged in this feast and conversation for over 2 hours on a busy saturday night without a comment or evil eye from any of the staff. I WILL return, and will be certain to request our outstanding waitress Jennifer. Highly Recommended, this experience wont be inexpensive but will be worth every penny. Be certain to make reservatons well in advance, it books up early. Located in a mall but once you step inside that harldy matters.
does NOT sizzle like Ruths Chris – Rather spend the money and go to Ruths Chris. This is part of a cheapie restuarant chain with a nice sudsidiary (the cap grill)...nothing here stands out...including the sevice
Over-rated – Their service was excellent - absolutely no question that it is the best service I have ever had. the food on the otherhad was same as ever other steakhouse everywhere. Meat good, sides typical and abundant...nothing stood out. Very Very pricey. Unless you dine more for service than food, for the money I would recommend Morton's or Ruth's.
Service befitting royalty, great spot for anniversary – When we arrived at the Scottsdale Capital Grille the valet greeted us by name and wished us a Happy Anniversay. The Host held the door open for me and my husband and wished us a Happy Anniversary again. When we arrived at our table it was adorned with rose pedals and our server brought us champagne to toast our special day. We began our dining experience with caviar and took the expert advice of our server and continued with an excellent Reisling. We accepted the recommendation of Surf and Turf and dined on a magnificent Porterhouse, expertly prepared, and a 3 pound fresh lobster, broiled to perfection, and sipped on a superb Pinot Noir which came with great accolades from our magnificent server. The Capital Grille sent us dessert and ended the evening with a photo commemorating our special day. The Capital Grille made our anniversary as special as our wedding day. Thank you, Capital Grille!
Great private dining room, detail oriented , private menu, excellent service – The Scottsdale Capital Grille could not have been more accomodating for my corporate dinner party. They arranged for all of the floral centerpieces on short notice, prepared a special menu with my corporate logo and when time came to serve the entrees it seamed that there was a waiter for every person. I have never been so overwhelmed with great service. Everyone of my guests felt special. I'll be sure to return even on a personal occasion.
The most exceptional fine dinine experience in the Valley. – The Capital Grille, Scottsdale, is an outrageously wonderful dining experience combining the magnificence of Certified Black Angus Dry-Aged Beef, The freshest of North Atlantic seafood flown in daily, the award winning wine menu and the finest service in the Valley. Whether you are having a casual dinner or celebrating a memorable life occasion the Capital Grille always provides the greatest dining experience. They truly act guest first!!!
Average Steak House – I have been to many steak houses and I find Capital Grille average at best. The decor and ambience is great, but when it comes down to the steak, which is supposed to be the best attraction in a steak restaurant, they fall short. Whether it be the seasoning or quality of the meat, or both, the steak doesn't taste that great.
