Buyer Beware!!! There's a reason this place offers a Groupon so often, and everyone seemed to be using one. Went to the Scottsdale location for lunch, ordered 2 beers (Negro Modelo) 2 "house" margaritas, an appetizer (nachos) and an entree from the lunch section (burrito). Total bill... over $50!!! Reason: The "house" margaritas are charged on your bill as "Maria's Choice" and cost $9.50. There is no price on the menu, because, as the waitress indicated, "The price changes, depending on the tequila used." When asked about the "House" margaritas listed on the happy hour menu for $4. "Oh, those are different." So apparently, they only offer "House" margaritas during happy hour, but don't mention that when you order them any other time. Worst part, the $9.50 margaritas are served with more ice than marg. Meaning, after you finish drinking one, there's still a full glass of ice. Good part (for them) it doesn't take much to finish drinking one. Big rip off. Lesson learned: Take your Groupon, ask the price before you order.
My spouse and I had brunch at this
popular Scottsdale eatery. We were very quickly greeted and seated in the outside patio by a friendly hostess. The decor is faux Mexican coastal cantina and the clientele appeared to be young professionals. during our visit.. Our very perky server, Rachael, quickly brought menus and offered
appetizers and beverages. We had draft Victoria and Pacifico beers, followed by an assemble it yourself omelet for my wife and a large steak burrito for myself. The burrito was accompanied by browned, cubed potatos and onion, the omelet by fresh fruit. The food was carefully prepared, in large portions and nicely presented. Music was eclectic, and a bit loud, but not really obtrusive, We split an order of sopapillas for dessert and still had to take three home, along with part of the omelet. The outside seating was comfortable, and canine friendly with a couple of the furry guys present. Traffic on Scottsdale Rd is very close, but their is enough setback to minimize it's bothersomeness. I would recommend this place for tourists and locals.
The place was full and everyone on the patio was contributing to a good vibe. The menu is apparently more limited during the week, so try Sunday brunch.
I loved the Burgers. I've been to Salty Senorita three times. The first time it was with a bunch of co-workers that wanted to meet and have a few drinks. Although I don't drink, this review is based on the food that I had. The first time I had the nachos with beef. It was a huge plater and the ingredients were not skimpy by any means. The taste was excellent. The scond time I took a friend of mine visiting from out of town. I had the burger, and I fell in love. I ordered it plain with a side of Jalopenos. The Japlopenos were not what I thought. These were fresh Jalopenos. At first look I thought, Oh this is not going to tast like I was hoping. Boy was I wrong. My mouth was on fire and I couldn't feel my lips for a couple of hours, but it was a darn awsome burger. The beef looked of a higher caliber quality. Although I wouldn't say it was cheap for a burger, but I guess you get what you pay for. So now I'm addicted to the fresh Jalopenos. I need to suffer that awsome fire taste every few weeks. I can't wait till the next time after my mouth heals.
Tasty food and Margaritas. I loved this place!! They have the best chips and salsa! They make the best Margarita with my favorite Cruz Tequila. mmmmm Cruz Tequila shots for the gals!!!
This place is great. Location can not be beat. Margaritas must have been made by the Gods.
Service and management help the experience.
Only one problem, health and cleanliness.
watch your wallet!!!!!.
upon arriving, the server told me the fajita's were on special for $10.99. They gave us 3 choices, chicken, steak and shrimp. We picked the shrimp and when we got the bill they charged us $12.99. they did not say shrimp would be extra. We had to ask for chips, they only give upon request. We needed an extra two tortillas for our fajita's and were charged $3.00 for a corn tortilla and $1.00 for a flour tortilla. We ordered a regular margarita and was given the special margarita at $8.99 a glass. We didn't know it was special until we got the bill. When I brought this up to the server she said that the economy has effected them too.
And by the way, the food was just mediocre. ****This was the Gilbert/Mesa restaurant on Stapely****
Great Lunch. Ever since we discovered Salties in the airpark for lunch we find ourselves there once a week. The Chipotle Wrap on the lunch menu is gooey cheesy goodness. The 7.99 lunch menu has a lot of good options, and on those occasions when we cheat and have a margarita, I am addicted to the mango. Its refreshing to find a place where the staff is actually happy to take care of you. A great lunch spot for all of us airpark folk.
the worst! avoid this place if you can!. sad to say that it was my idea to check out the Salty Senorita on Peoria. It was a saturday night, so my friend and I were both carded before entering, which I did not mind. Once inside we found a table. We must have sat at this table for at least 20 minuets, wondering if our waitress would ever show up. Finally, my friend and I got up because we were so frustrated and went to the bar ourselves. We ordered our beer from a very unwelcoming bartender and was asked to show our IDs once again. Was confused at this point as to why I had to show my ID once again but I obliged b/c I needed a drink! As my friend and I get back to our table with our beer in tow, the waitress shows up with an attitude asking if she could get us anything. Ha! I said no thanks, we got it ourselves. The waitress shows up 15 minuets later asking if she could get us another beer, by this time I was ready for another round. I said, yes as I sipped the last portion of my beer and it was at this time that she asked for my ID. I told her, wow! this is the third time I had to show my ID. I don't think she liked my comment b/c she took my ID to security which escorted me out of salty to meet up with 4 police men that were outside of the restaurant. The police called their dispatcher to run my ID to verify my identity. I was so humiliated and angry! Come to find out I was telling the truth, that the person on the ID card was me! I received no apology! This place is horrible! Bad food, bad service! Do not go!
Best in Peoria!. I have been waiting for something like this on the West side and Finally it's here! The atmosphere is AWESOME and the food is just as good! They have a great misting system all over thier patios along with large fans blowing the cool air down on us. We had our whole family there and my older son played volleyball while my younger ones were able to play in the sand area. I STRONGLY recommend Salty Senorita Peoria!!!!!! Oh by the way, thier margaritas are to die for, it would be a mistake to go there and not try at least one.
Mmmmm.....love this place !. Fundido dip & margarita's on the Patio is one of Old Towns great simple pleasures. Jumping on our bike's & peddling to Saltys is the best family outing EVER ! It's a weekend tradition.
