Finally, a great cantina in the East Valley – I stumbled upon Salties by accident and have been going back now for the past few months. The vibe at Salties is really chill. The perfect spot to unwind after a crappy day at the office. The bartenders are on top of their game, and are not too bad on the eyes either! Happy hour specials are good, try the Fundido dip....so addicting! You won't find the cheesy Scottsdale type here, just kick back fun people. The overall vibe of the place is like what you would expect to find on some beach in mexico, a great place to relax and throw back some beers with your buds.
BEST MARGARITA IN TOWN......AMAZING FOOD.....GREAT SERVICE – My wife and I visited Salty Peoria and had great drinks, great food and a great time. Sampled many Margaritas and was rather impressed with not only the drinks them self but the service we had recieved. Their house margarita is by far the best margarita we have the pleasure of consuming in this neck of the woods. As for the food, I had Chicken de la Senorita...." which was amazing and full of flavor" my wife had had the shrimp fajitas which not only came with a good amount of food, also came with mucho flavors. We finished our meal with a chochlate tamale..... All I can say about that dish is WOW! Any who I plan on a speedy return for some more GREAT food....GREAT Margaritas......and GREAT FUN!!!!
Adventurous happy hour, great deals..... – I recently visited the salty senorita in mesa on a tues evening for happy hour with 3 of my friends. Let me tell you, I definetly was not expecting to have so much fun during a week day. The prices were awsome (as they were having there tues special of $1 tacos). The drinks were strong, the atmosphere was festive and service was great too. All in all I would say they are the best happy hour place to go on the east side of town.
A fun time, all the time! – At a time when restaurants are coming and going so fast you can"t keep track of them, The Salty Senorita has created and filled its own niche superbly. From the authentic hand-made food, to the expertly designed margaritas, this is a place you mustn't miss! The misted patio is usually full of fun seekers and stays that way until late in the night. Those donning flip flops and just as common as those in business suits. This is a place where you will always make a friend.
Best Margarita's and atmosphere – We always have a great time at Salty's! The Margarita's are the best in town! Great food also! I love the Mexican Cantina feel, I always think I am on vacation while I am there.
Fantastic! – Last month, we decided to have our friend's surprise birthday dinner at the Salty Senorita! What a great choice! From our very first call to the restaurant to the actual dinner itself, we were treated like we were very important customers. The food was delicious and the margaritas were perfect. Our server took amazing care of us and the manager on duty came to check on our group several times. Everyone was super freindly and our friend was thrilled with her celebration! We will be back again and again! It is well worth the drive down to Old Town.
Oh and, in my opinion, Salty has the best chips and salsa in town...hands down!
God awful so called Mexican food. – We ate at the recently opened Salty Senorita in Peoria over the weekend and I can tell you we won't be back. Warning, most of the seating is outdoors which is fine in the winter but what about July? First of all after we FINALLY found someone to seat us we opened up the rolled up napkins and silverware only to keep opening all of them on the table in an attempt to fine a clean knife and fork each for the three of us. The silverware was still dirty when it was wrapped. We ordered drinks and they took forever to arrive. The margaritas were so so and not even in a traditional margarita glass, just a plain old water glass (complete with water spots). We ordered Fundido sauce to go with the chips and I must say I have never had slices of onions and pepper in a sauce before. We then ordered food which I must say is a bit overpriced. When it finally arrived one could tell that it had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite a while. The enchilada sauce was dried and dark and the cheese was clumpy and none of us could figure out the point of the green uncooked rice on the plate. We took a bite of our food and not only was it cold on the inside but it tasted awful. The tacos had one piece of meat in them each and the meat in the enchiladas was mush. We then proceeded to order a cookie bar desert. First of all it took a really long time (considering all they had to do was heat it up and put a scoop of ice cream over it) We had someplace we had to be so we asked for our check and made them take the desert off the check. All in all we don't plan to return. There are so many other Mexican food restaurants within 5 miles of this place that offer quality food at a reasonable price and will value you as a paying customer. The place is disgusting.
Lousy so called Mexican Food – This place was awful at best. We ate at the new Peoria location. I had the flight of tacos (4 tacos) and my husband had the beef enchiladas. The tacos were wrapped in a doughy shell and I only ate the insides of the tacos. The enchiladas were equally as tasteless. Service (Sunday afternoon) was slow. I ordered desert and ended up leaving because it took so long for it to arrive and we had a game to attend. Overall the food was bland and not earthshaking. I don't think we will be back. Also I can't imagine the place in summer. Most of the seating is outside and I don't want to be eating outside in 100 degree plus. I would rather eat at Taco Bell.
Good service, subpar chain restaurant type mexican food – prompt and attentive service, subpar food. Shrimp tacos: need to be wrapped in two tortillas, one bite and they fall apart.. shrimp are fairly tasteless... enchildas.. .are more like soft tacos with tons of cheese melted on top, filling.. pretty mediocre. Cheese dip.. passable.. salsa served with chips..borders on the sweet side. not spicy at all..
This is your typical 'chain' restaurant type mexican eatery.. Margaritas must be good as the noise level indicated.. R=
pretty good! – margeritas are great here. food is ok, but the atmosphere and service makes up for it! prices are fair, I would go again.
