Horrible Service Mediocre Food. Way Over-priced for the terrible service you receive and the food is small portions of no flavor. Many better choices out there in a vibrant dining scene.
marvelous pasta and fish. It was a unique experience at North. 4 people and all 4 enjoyed their entire meal from bread to desert. Pasta done to perfection, fish not over cooked and tender, and calamari to die for. Great wine list and Dominic the waiter was amazing. This will be my new go to restraunt. Prices are reasonable, what a find.
Don't Bother. This place is so noisy we couldn't even hear the waitress not to mention have any conversation at our table. The food used to be good, but it has gone downhill big time. Don't go.
Overpriced, overcooked and so so service.. Went with my wife and we were greeted and sat quickly. The service was fast; the food selection was good, though they only had one choice of cabernet wine by the glass! I ordered a medium "juicy delmonico steak" and my wife ordered a well-done flank steak. My steak was cut up to make it fashionable (dry). In any good restaurant a steak is kept whole in order to keep the flavor and juiciness of the steak. The steak was dry and had a lot of connective tissue-much like bits of New York steak and not rib eye-as published. The flank was burned up all over. I would say the waitress-Nicky was very friendly even though we finally got the salt and pepper at the end of our meal.
Great Food! Servers eating in the dining room, while still on duty.. We ate dinner at North on a Sunday night. When we got there, the dining room was about 1/3 full. We were given a table with no wait. We ordered a variety of items, an appetizer, a salad, a pizza and an entree to split between the two of us. The food came out very quickly. Too quickly in fact. We felt rushed through the courses, as we were only half-way through the appetizers when the entree was put on the table. The food itself was fantastic. Hot foods were hot, cold were cold, and all tasted great. My biggest issue was that while we were finishing up (and there were nine other tables of diners), a group of waitresses came out of the kitchen with plates of food, and styrofoam cups from Jamba Juice, and proceeded to sit at the table behind us, and start eating. One of the waitresses got up a few times to check on her tables- WHO WERE STILL EATING. I understand that the staff needs to eat, but they should not be in the dining room with the customers. North gets a high rating because the food was so good.
Contemporary Italian cuisine in a boisterous Kierland Commons space..
In Short
Located in the center of bustling Kierland Commons, the open dining room features exposed brick walls, wood floors and steel accents reminiscent of an older, more urban environment. The open kitchen, bar area and jam-packed tables make for a lively dining experience during peak hours. Instead of creamy sauces or marinara-drenched dishes, the seasonal menu of contemporary Italian dishes are light and varied. A solid wine selection (mostly Italian, French and Californian) and inventive martinis made with exotic liqueurs keep the after-work crowd coming back.
Perfect for lunch. I love going to North for lunch. Much better atmosphere than dinner. Delicious food. Light yet filling. Cute wine list. Love the angel hair pasta dish. Gorgeous women on their lunch breaks from shopping. Can't ask for more.
