Tips for Mimi's Cafe

January 22, 2013

We had made reservations, but they did not honor them. Can't say anything about the food because we left the place. So, if you don't need a specific time and date, who knows. maybe it is a nice place although the hostesses were very rude if that is any indication.

Atmosphere rules at this French New Orleans-themed spot that serves traditional American fare.. In Short
Decorated like a French country bistro with jazzy New Orleans overtones, Mimi's Café was named after a lost love of Arthur Simms, who started the restaurant in 1978 in Anaheim, Calif., with his family. The ambience could only be upstaged by the menu filled with traditional American favorites. Breakfast includes omelets, waffles, muffins and fresh-squeezed juices, while lunch and dinner feature comfort-food classics like pot pie and pot roast, deli-style sandwiches, burgers, pastas, steaks and salads.

Great food!. Fantastic breakfasts (omelets, pancakes with fruit toppings), good coffee, EXCELLENT Thanksgiving menu! Delicious bread pudding, but ask for the rum sauce on the side. Skip the Banana Foster's pie... the best banana foster's to be found is at Red Robin!

Be sure to book early to get an early seating for Thanksgiving, or else you run the risk of running out of good selections. Turkey is moist and delectable. Actually, everything we tasted was awesome!

The best servers ever. I can't believe how nice these servers are! Everyone is super nice, and upon your first visit, they give you a package of four GIANT muffins to take home with you! (Make sure you mention it's your first experience there!) They give you large portions and the food is good, and inexpensive! I don't know about you, but I'm tired of paying $10 for mediocre appetizers at other restaurants. A lot less expensive than others, and high quality too. I hope it stays that way! Breakfast is great and served all day!
