California Pizza Kitchen experience.
It had been a long time since I had been to California Pizza Kitchen, so when my dad asked me if I wanted to go with him I was more than happy to join him. We decided to go to the one located at Chandler mall so that we could do a little shopping before we ate. We parked close to CPK so that it would not be a far walk after we ate.
As we entered the restaurant, the hostess kindly greeted us and took us to our table. As we began to look over our menus, the waitress came and took our drink orders. She got our drinks out to us immediately and than asked us if we were ready to order. Since we had been there before, we had an idea of what we wanted but we needed a little more time to make a final decision. I usually liked to order the barbecue chicken pizza, which is very tasty, but I decided to try something else. My dad and I ended up ordering the barbecue chopped chicken salad and a regular order of the creamy mac n cheese.
After putting in our orders, the waitress brought us our some bread and butter to snack on until our food came out. She also made sure to keep our drinks filled. After about 15 minutes the salad came out which was very delicious. It was shortly followed by the warm and creamy mac n cheese which tasted close to perfect.
The pros of this experience was the quality of the food and the service. The cons were the pricing of the food and noisiness of the restaurant. Overall I still had a very enjoyable experience and would definitely go again.
Watch your pie bake in a wood-fired oven at this national chain with global culinary influences..
In Short
Founded in Beverly Hills in 1985, these eateries with the trademark yellow, black and white color scheme have spread nationwide. The decor consists of simple wood and glass with roomy black leather booths. The thin-crust pizzas come with innovative toppings from Asia, Latin America and the Southwest; signature pizzas like the Original BBQ Chicken and Jamaican Jerk Chicken compete with old standbys like pepperoni and traditional cheese. Pastas, salads, soups and sandwiches round out the menu.
Love the Sicilian. After trying numerous items on the menu, I find that the pizza is still the best thing to order. The last time we went, the Sicilian pizza was a lot better than the Rosmary Chicken Focaccia Sandwich. The pizza was nice and hot, while the sandwich was cold. Our server was incredibly friendly and the atmosphere was very upbeat. I love Italian Sodas and our server offered cream for my Mango Italian soda without me even asking for it, I was very happy. The open-fire oven and gorgeous ceiling wood beams add a nice touch to the ambiance. The staff and another patron were even kind and honest enough to save my sunglasses that I had left in the restroom. Thumbs Up! I'll be back for sure.
