Editorial Review for The Cheesecake Factory – by Citysearch Staff
In Short
Oddball architecture--curving surfaces and colorful light fixtures--and thick-as-a-book menus distinguish this restaurant from other eateries. The encyclopedic menu spans the globe with enormous American interpretations of dishes like pad thai, shrimp tacos, miso salmon, pasta Milanese and a slate of appetizers, sandwiches, entrees and desserts too extensive to list. The namesake cheesecakes, ranging from original to peanut-butter-cup-fudge ripple, are over the top in both concept and decadence.

Cheesecake turned me off years ago with long lines, pushy servers & small, overpriced desserts. But I have to admit, the last six or seven times I've had a quality meal at a decent price, without the aggressive salesmanship. The colossal menu enables everyone in even a large party to find something tasty. I recommend the fish tacos or the vegetarian omelet, but most everything looks good - and large! Go early to avoid waits, and share a cozy dessert at the adjacent Borders instead.
Pros: Menu variety, upscale decor, big portions
Cons: overrated desserts, can get crowded
