Great food. Charleston’s is a very classy restaurant for a reasonable price. Most of their meals are in the range of 10-20 dollars a plate. Their menu also has a good variety of excellent food. They serve everything from burgers, steaks and salads. Once again it was time to put Charleston’s to the test. My birthday was here and I wanted a good meal for a descent price. So Saturday November 7th my wife and I made the trek from Tempe to Stapley and Baseline.

As soon as we arrived the hostess greeted us immediately. As it was around 3:00pm we were offered to be seated instantly. We were about to get a table when I heard some funky 70’s disco music coming from the bar, and opted to sit there instead. Immediately, cold water and menus were provided and the waitress introduced herself. I wanted to go all out so I decided to order an appetizer, so I decided to try the Spinach Artichoke Dip. Within seven to eight minutes the appetizer arrived and we were ready to order.

I decided to try the Grilled Chicken and Avocado Sandwich. The Spinach Artichoke dip was amazing. It was made with Parmesan cream sauce, spinach and artichoke. The appetizer was also served with fresh tortilla chips and two sides of sour cream and salsa. The dip was big and had the perfect mix of creamy spinach and artichoke. I really like how all three of the main ingredients didn’t overpower each other.

The appetizer was also steamy and fresh, I rate this as excellent.

Within 15 minutes of receiving our appetizer our main meals arrived. My Chicken and Avocado Sandwich was huge. It had a side of fries and the waitress even remembered to bring a side of ranch with it. My meal had toasted bread, blackened chicken breast, avocado, bacon, sprouts, tomato, melted Swiss and honey-mustard. I can say that not only was the sandwich huge, but it was incredible. The chicken was moist instead of dry, and all the ingredients tasted very fresh. I think the mixture of blackened chicken breast, honey-mustard, and avocado is perfect. The chicken was slightly spicy balanced with a tangy taste from the mustard. I give the cook two thumbs up for this masterpiece. The fries on the other hand were terrible. Even though I was pleased the ranch was provided, they were stale and skinny. They tasted like they had been made an hour earlier. The waitress did ask if everything was good, but with the size of my sandwich, and all ready eating an appetizer, I deemed it unnecessary to complain about them.

I have to say that I am very pleased with Charleston’s as a classy affordable restaurant. They have great service and excellent food. I would still give them five stars with the stale fries. I have been there before and the fries were always good previously. The drinks always stayed topped off and the waitress doesn’t interrupt you while you are having a conversation with your party. If you want to get good food at a reasonable price Charleston’s is the place to go.

Best Steaks in Town. My husband and I love this Charlestons location. The ambience is romantic with the low lights, rock walls, and rich, dark colors. The service is excellent and friendly. The food is outstanding, especially the steaks! They will literally melt in your mouth! The crescents with honey are to die for! We have recommended this restaurant to all our friends who agree it is top notch. We even took some friends from Switzerland for dinner here and they loved it! The menu can be a little pricey, but it is worth it every time.

Waste of money. Don't waste your money here, the only thing this place has going for them is their crescents w/honey on them and that?s about it. Go next door if you want a real steak, I do got to admit that this place has a romantic feel to it so I will give it that and only that. I personally would NOT go here for a romantic dinner for two your kidding me Right there are better options than here trust me, and if your anything like me you prefer the best for your romantic dinners for those special occasions and that you wont get from here. Although I?ve been to another location that was very good but it?s out of my way and not worth my time to go there when I can just go next door. Poor food, service and just a waste of my time NOT recommended at all.

Very nice atmosphere and service, but pricy.. Charleston is a nicer, upscale type restaurant. The variety of food is a nice change. The stuffed Pork Chops with Applesauce was very good. However, my wifes grilled chicken breast was undercooked and had to be sent back.

The atmosphere and was very nice and the service was good, but our waitress kept being distracted by a male server who definitely had a crush on her. Had to sit with empty drinks too many times.

Overall, the Charleston was a nice restaurant with a couple of kinks but expensive for what you get.
