Tips for Goldwing Service

November 22, 2012

My Maytag washer kept blowing a fuse which would not allow the drum to fill with water. Goldwing came to look at it. The Technician Craig was a big whiner. He complained the whole time that I didn't live in his area and he was filling in for someone else. I just want it fixed. I didn't want to listen to him whine. He installed a fuse and several months later it blew again. I called Goldwing again. Oh boy Craig is here complaining again. He put in another fuse. A month later the fuse blew again. I called Goldwing a third time. They said they would have to troubleshoot the problem and that it could be very expensive. At that point I gave up and went somewhere else. I called Beyer Appliance Service in Tempe. They scheduled an appointment the next day. The technician Gil called and asked me what the model number was on the washer. He walked me thru where to look for the model number. He said he had to pickup a part and that the lid switch was bad and that's why the fuse kept blowing. He said it was a known problem. Why did't Craig from Goldwing know about a known problem? It took Gil half an hour to install the new lid switch. It was REPAIRED THE FIRST TIME!!! The washer works great! Gil was very professional and friendly. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. NEVER CALL GOLDWING!!!!

Looking for a new appliance service company. I am a Realtor who refers lots of business to Goldwing. Each time, I am frustrated because:

1. They do not listen - they call me instead of my customer who needs the repair.

2. They take weeks to get a part and/or put it in

3. They fixed a burner for me which only worked for a couple weeks so I had to call them again. Took forever and now they are charging me again. No credit for the previous repair, no explanation, etc.

4. I now have a new appliance repair company that will be getting my business.

Fast, honest and dependable. I've used this company 4 times and have always had a pleasant experience. The technicians are clean, the prices are reasonable, the repairs made in a timely manner and done right the first time. I will gladly use them again.

Bad Customer Service, Untimely Repair. 4 weeks ago we had a repair tech come to our home to check out our microwave that made a funny sound. He was able to determine the problem within 5mins. Two parts had to be ordered. After 3wks and no phone call from the company. We had to call last week to find out what the status of the part was. One part was on back order and created a month wait. When I spoke with the staff last week on Thursday to schedule the repair the soonest was Tuesday of this week. She explained that a technician would call me in the am to set-up a time to be here. I asked "I have to be here all day?" she said no when the tech calls you can set-up a time that will work best and I had her note I would not be available between 12-2. Tuesday came and no phone call. About 10:30am I called the office and staff explained he had been to the house already and called my husbands cell. The staff was rude when I told her the number was my husbands but he was at work. She replied "What does he not answer is phone at work?" with a distinct attitude of impatience. The tech did not leave a message on his phone nor did he leave a door tag as she said he did. Staff told me she would contact the tech and have him call me. In our eyes .... He was never here. Secondly I thought he was supposed to call and set up a time with us. I don't know of any company you have to be at home all day to wait for the repair man. 3hours went by and still no word from the tech. Needless to say I am not satisfied and called back in and spoke with a gentleman on staff. He was also rude. He told me since a tech was already here we have to reschedule the appointment. I proceeded to say I've already waited 4 weeks and he did not leave a message or door tag and I believe this is the worst service I have had. He snapped back and said "That is your opinion" and went on ranting and raving. I apparently upset this man, but I am the customer and I feel I had a right to say I had bad service. Since he continued on and would not allow me to speak after I said I was dissatisfied I politely told him I would have someone else call Thank you and good bye. I personally do not have to listen to him go on and on defending his company. I will be submitting a complaint to Lowe's and the Better Business. The staff must be very unhappy because it shows through the customer service aspect of the business.

Update*** Same day two hours later technician called and promptly fixed Micro. Technician was nice and understanding. Thank you for the great technicians, but maybe they should look at the staff answering phones.

the worst. I bought a dishwasher from Spencers but it would not drain. Spencers had me call Goldwing who have now come out 5 times and it is STILL not draining. Spencers will not replace it and I have no interest in having Goldwing come back to my house. I am EXTREMELY dis-satisfied with Goldwing. I have contacted the manager of both Spencers and Goldwing and all they offered was to come back out and try again - NO THANKS!!!

Never again. This company was referred to me by Spencer's(come to find out later, they are owned by Spencer's--go figure). The tech came out to fix my washer and after several minutes of "prying" at my machine trying to figure out how it came apart, he gave up and said that it needed a transmission(without even pulling it apart). The tech quoted me $300 to repair it and charged me $100 for the service charge. To make a very long story short, I had my handyman look at the machine and he knew right off that it was not the transmission. As it turns out, my washer just needed a $10 part inside the agitator. My handyman charged me $85 for the total fix. After contacting both the service manager at Goldwing and Spencer's, nothing was resolved. I was told that their tech was factory trained and he made a correct diagnosis---what a joke!!!! Lesson learned. Just check their "unsatisfactory" record with the BBB---6 unresolved complaints??!!! How can they continue to operate with such poor business practices? Better luck to the rest of you.

Awesome! Honest, trustworthy and reasonably priced.. We have used Goldwing for every appliance in the house and I appreciate them tremendously. They come out when they say they will, and they are always readily available. Price-wise they are inexpensive and they back up their work. They have fixed my washer, dryer and refrigerator and unfortunately will now get a shot at my oven! I wish I didn't need to have it fixed, but I'm glad to know I can trust them to do the job!
