Get cozy with friends and family and enjoy an Italian feast at this loved-by-locals restaurant..
In Short
Homesick for your mother's Italian cooking? Grab your appetite and head to this restaurant, where the friendly wait staff will serve up portions of Colosseum-esque proportions, like spaghetti and meatballs loaded with savory tomato sauce and lots of pungent garlic. Dishes center on Southern Italian immigrant fare, and are meant to be shared family-style with a large goblet of wine-to enhance the taste, of course. The ornate décor with walls covered in vintage photos evokes a warm homey feel that welcomes customers to dine among the other families and loyal customers. Buon Appetito!
Good atmosphere and great for large groups. I recently went here for the first time, it was interesting. They walked us through the kitchen before seating us, not sure what I think of that. The resturant had an old house or antique store smell. A little disgusting, but I would have to say the staff made it a very positive experience. The dishes are generally for 2 or more, or 3 or more but there are some that you can order for just one person. I like the family style menu, however, it doesn't work with any group of people. The salads are amazing and the lasanga wasn't as good as olive garden. Overall, good not great food, nice staff, and good atmosphere.
Great Veal Parmesean and Chicken Marsala. Hooked on their Veal Parmesean and Chicken Marsala. You can even do half orders if you have a party of two. I like the 'to go" option . . . call in order, park in pick up parking space and they bring your order out to you. Not the most quiet/romantic place to dine (family atmosphere/pretty loud with screaming kids).
Are you kidding???. This is just like Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill. Part of what makes Italian food great is the family component and the love of the chef in the cooking. How can this place offer any of that? I recommend this only if you want to stuff as much pasta down your throat and not taste any of it. The portions are huge, but the quality is lacking. Not a good Italian restaurant by any stretch.
Great for large groups. We had agroup of 14. We can be a little loud and we didn't have to worry about it here. We had one vegatarian and being family style servings we had alot of questions, how many appetizers how many entrees how many differant entrees. Well our sever was awsome he did such a great job on how much we should order we hardly had any leftovers, which i hate. Food was good, my picky 8 year old had calamari for the first time and loved it
Horrible. The food was horrible. I can cook better Italian food at home! Service was horrible and the Sangria was watered down. Save your time waiting and money--go somewhere else.
Buca - great experience. I rarely go to dinner with large groups, but when I find myself in a position to select a place for a table of 5+, this is what I suggest. The menus on the walls are a nice touch once you get used to crank-your-neck ordering, and the chicken with garlic mashed potatoes is worth taking home and serving at your table. Two of my nieces work in Buca's out of state, and everything I hear about the kitchen and their operations matches the positive dining experiences I have had the restaurants in several states now.
