Editorial Review for Dillon's Restaurant – by Nicole Urso
In Short
Aside from a reputation for succulent and affordable baby back ribs, pulled pork, fried catfish and award-winning onion rings, Dillon's throws a great party and will find just about any excuse to do it. Every weekend there's live entertainment, and holidays warrant themed foods and drinks as well as costumed employees. With the NFL's Arizona Cardinals in town now, patrons have another excuse to stop in for pre- or postgame barbecue and beer.

Went there and ordered pulled pork sandwiches. Got mine and something felt funny in the food in my mouth.....pulled it out of my mouth and it was a large piece of plastic. Reported it to the manager and he said it was the plastic that is put on the meat and the cook must of forgotten to remove it. He offered me a free dessert. Lucky I didn't swallow the plastic. Food was OK, will not go back again.
Pros: NA
Cons: Need to have better quality control in the kitchen.

I wish this place was available where I live (Portland, Oregon), but I visit it every time I'm in the Phoenix area (at least once a year). Dillon's has a great deal of seating, but it pays to get here near opening time because it fills up quickly with people from Peoria, Sun City, and Glendale. I've tried several dishes here, but am now completely addicted to the beef brisket: Perfect thin strips of beef in a delicious sauce! The tempora batter onion rings are also unbelievably good here. The sides are a let-down, but who really cares given the quality of the main course. Then there's the chicken fried steak - enough to feed three normal appetites (I can eat a little over half of this). Never tried the desserts here (obvious reason). Favorite place to dine in this large place is the back room where you can sometimes watch birds and rabbits dining (on the other side of the windows). There's a bar in the front, haven't tried that yet. For those new to this place, entering from the West on West Thunderbird Road can be a little tricky - you actually drive into an automotive lot and then you drive from there into Dillon's parking. Trying to enter Dillon's parking directly from the West can be quite dangerous given the traffic and the placement of the median.
