Smoke and grime. This place seems to have a serious dedication to cigarette smoke and grime. On the several times I have been there, I have had to walk through a phalanx of smoke from smokers standing in front of the door (in violation of current law). The first thing you see is the bar, which seems to have a hardcore, hard-drinking following. The off-track betting does not add to the ambiance, which is downright gritty. A great location, but this is not what you would call a neighborhood bar. Food service is mediocre, not surprising in a place that is obviously more of a power-drinkers bar than a restaurant. A place to avoid, unless you want to power-slam a few pitchers, inhale some nicotine, and get your bet on.
