Unpretentious, bargain-priced restaurants offer authentic Mexican dishes. There's a printed menu written in Spanish on one side, English on the other. The menu features burros, tortas, seafood soup and huevos rancheros. Don't miss the pollo asado--a half chicken marinated in pineapple juice and smacked on a big grill. Tacos are the draw because they're dirt cheap at a buck 25 a piece. You can get 'em stuffed with all kinds of scary but delicious stuff such as lengua (tongue), sesos (brains), tripa (tripe), or cabeza, (beef head) as well as carnitas and carne asada.
