Hubert the sales guy is why you should not shop here.
Weekend bike ride with 7 year old son to my local bike shop to purchase him a new bike and donate his old one.
What could have been a wonderful day with my son turned out to be nothing but a disappointment as I was confronted with a rude, eye rolling, condecending sales man "Hubert" who never spoke one word to my son, offered me little to no options, I guess a 300-400 dollar sale is above Hubert's pay grade.
left the store empty handed, my son disappointed .
so much for shopping local, I will purchase online
I will make it a point to Avoid this shop and I have emailed everyone I know not to shop here.…
Tempe Bike is Awesome and Deserves Praise!!!.
I can't believe this place got any bad reviews! My friends and I agree that somebody was just being unfair or it may have been the competition giving it a slam.
3 of my girlfriends and I went in to the Tempe Bike on Rural a couple months ago. We didn't know what bikes we wanted but knew if any place had them...
Tempe Bike would. We walked through the door and were greeted but nobody swarmed on us and we were able to look around to see what they had. It was a little daunting as they had at least 500 bikes and all kinds too.
All I had to do was catch a clerk's eye and one of the guys came over and we then asked our questions. We told him our budget and where we going to ride.
He knew his stuff and hooked us all up with three bikes right then and there. We even got to test ride them and that was super kewl. We got all the accessories we needed and they installed everything for FREE!
One bike was ordered from their warehouse and he assured us it would be there tomorrow and ready to go. Sure enough it was and we are so thrilled with
our purchases. We've been back twice for more air (they did it for us right away) and some lights. We will not go anywhere else! They had fair prices and top notch service.
One review here said nobody talked to him right away. I've been to other stores and when they pounce on me immediately, I tend to leave just as quickly.
They don't mind if you want to 'just browse' and I bet most people do their shopping just that way.I know we did. A+…
Dishonest.
If I could give this shop a zero, I would. Thin stock for middle price range bikes, and I've never been treated more dishonestly by a business in my life. The sales staff were friendly and
knowledgeable, but the owner sold a bike I had on a 24 hour hold after only four hours, and didn't have the dignity to look me in the eye or apologize for it.
Dear Tempe Bicycle,
I am deeply disappointed in the service I received over labor day weekend. I arrived at noon on Sunday hoping to try out a few road bikes, learn what the different options are and how different bikes feel, and hoping to buy a new bike. I tried both of the two you had in stock in my size. Your salesperson and mechanics were wonderful, informative, and happy to work with me. After some discussion, I decided that although I loved the bike I had been riding, it was selling for more than I had planned on paying and I wasn't comfortable making such a significant purchase without some time to think about it. Your sales staff and I settled on a 24 hour hold, and I went home to consider the purchase. Only 4 hours later, I came back to the store hoping to take home my new bicycle. As I arrived, I saw my bike being wheeled out the door by an older couple, who had just bought it. I was told that you had sold the bike in direct disregard to the hold placed on it without even the courtesy of a phone call. When I spoke with you, you didn't make eye contact, you didn't apologize, and you didn't make any effort to remedy the situation.
I make a point of supporting small businesses. I also understand the challenges of running a small business and the necessity to move stock quickly. However, an important tenet of running a small business is to treat your customers with respect. I have made many small purchases at Tempe bikes over the three years I've lived here, and I am grateful for the knowledge I've consistently seen in your sales staff. This is one of the reasons I chose to come to you first when I was looking to make a significant purchase. Therefore, it is with deep regret that I am forced to write this review. I will no longer patronize the Tempe Bicycle shop, and will recommend alternative stores to my friends, coworkers, and the incoming students that I teach.
Best Regards,
a former customer…
