Hot Chips Great Salsa !. Years ago a friend and his family said they had to show me some good food and they introduced me to what i call the famous La Fonda fajitas. No joke these fajitas rang my bell and i was addicted. Now i have been going there for years have gotten to know the crew and they have taken me on a tour of the Menu so to speak. I have tried most everything now and I have my favorites like the Treo Fajita's, Green Burro Fundito Style, Chicken Enchilada combination with two eggs over medium on top, Steak Picado... hmmm I'm hungry. Seriously the list goes on and on. I understand this place has been here for 44+ years family owned and the recipes have stood the test of time. Oh and it's worth it to save some room that fried Ice Cream or Flan... To Die For!!!

WORST SERVICE - WENT 2/26/11 1:00-2:00. WHERE DO I START. BAD SERVICE, GOT ORDER WRONG EVEN WHEN I REPEATED IT BACK TO HER, SHE SAT DOWN TO EAT HER FOOD AND WE HAD TO WAIT FOR OUR CHECK. WHEN SHE HAD TO GET UP TO ADD IT ALL UP, SHE WAS MAD, WHEN SHE ADDED 10.16 EXTRA AND I ASKED HERE WHAT THAT WAS FOR, SHE SAID IT WAS HER TIP FOR 6 PEOPLE, 2 OF WHICH WERE CHILDREN. WE HAVE BEEN GOING FOR YEARS, NOT ANY MORE. NOT BECAUSE OF THE FOOD, BUT BECAUSE OF THE SERVICE. I'M DONE WITH BAD SERVICE. PUT A FORK IN IT! DONE WITH LA FONDA. THIS SENORITA NEEDS TO BE TRAINED. SHE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO WORKS HARD FOR THE MONEY. IF SHE DON'T LIKE BEING A WAITRESS THEN SHE NEEDS TO FIND ANOTHER LINE OF WORK. I WAS SO MAD SHE ADDED 18.5 % AS HER TIP! SINCE WHEN IS A TIP FOR BAD SERVICE AND ATTITUDE MANDATORY. THERE ARE MANY GOOD PLACES TO EAT WHERE WE CAN GET GOOD SERVICE. WE...ARE THE CUSTOMER!

Terrible experience. Literally the worst restaurant I've ever been to. The food was overpriced and horrendous. The quesadilla looked like a joke. It was on a dirty silver tray and was one tortilla with melted cheese on top - order a large for a second tortilla for JUST 3 dollars more. I've made better quesadilla's in a microwave. The hot sauce was actually marinara with the red pepper flakes people put on pizza and was served in a syrup pourer. The waitress sat down and ate her own meal (she was not on break) before bringing us the check and overcharged us. When we questioned her about the extra charge she acted annoyed.

Awesome Green Chile/Sampler Dish. It's a small place with fantastic chips and salsa. Not a place to go to if you're into luxurious decor. Every one we've taken there has enjoyed the food!

Authentic --Not Gringo. If there were just one restaurant I could go to when visiting the Valley, this would be it. Started going as an ASU student and have never gone back to PHX without returning to La Fonda for Chiles Rellenos. Since the first time I went there many years ago, the food has never changed. You know your in a great Mexican restaurant when most of the clientele speaks Spanish.
