Exquisite, Elegant, Amazing!. I recently dined at the authentic Persian restaurant, Tasty Kabob in Tempi on Apache Boulevard. I was very pleased with the excellent service and food, none of which was anywhere close to being subpar. When seated I first took note of the ambiance of the restaurant and how well it fit the theme of the establishment. There was appropriate lighting, authentic music, and tasteful décor.

I began my meal by ordering a mint Doogh, a traditional yogurt soda drink. The beverage was fresh and from the writing on the bottle you could tell it was no fake. For the main dish I ordered Lamb Kabob, which came with two long strips of freshly cooked lamb, served with traditional golden rice, and accompanied by a side of freshly chopped peppers and onions. Lamb is a rather hard meat to prepare for if not cooked correctly, the meat can easily become dry and tough. I was glad to see that my meat was presented to me fresh, savory, and juicy. The dish had the perfect mix of herbs and spices that did not cover up the taste of the meat, but enhance its natural flavors. The rice was a glorious gold and prepared just right so it was not too sticky, nor too fluffy, and it complimented the lamb just right. Unfortunately the side of onions and peppers were not cut the way they were supposed to, but the meal itself easily covered for that factor.

To finish off my night, I ordered the restaurants famous Rose Water Ice-Cream. This delectable dissert is a tasteful treat that that would make any pallet swoon with its flavor. The frozen dairy treat is pure elegance in a cup that could only be described as heavenly. You have heard of the term, hundred dollar wine, this would be hundred dollar ice-cream.

The whole evening I am happy to say was absolute joy. The meal was prepared to perfection, the selection of food is sure to please anyone of all tastes, and the service was five star worthy. My whole experience to Tasty Kabob was an amazing one and I encourage anyone who would want an exquisite meal to dine there.

Fantastic Persian ice cream!. Took my Mom here to try the lamb shank dinner. We both agree that Byblos in Tempe prepares this dish much, much better! The only thing that saved this dish was the buttered rice with lima beans. We also both agree that we will only return to this restaurant to enjoy the homemade Persian ice cream prepared with rosewater, saffron, and pistachios. Heaven!
