What People Are Saying About Eastside Records

In Short – Unlike the scene in High Fidelity where the clerk harangues a customer for requesting "I Just Called To Say I Love You," Eastside is an indie record store that realizes that people who buy indie punk records also have mainstream tastes. Here it's possible to buy an Econochrist t-shirt, a vinyl copy of a Samian album and still be able to purchase a Best of Journey CD with nary a grimace from the register.

Diggers delight! I came up on some good gems that surprised me. The place kind of puts you in a time warp... in a good way!

Small shop, half the size of their prior location. I have had issues communicating defects with new pressings on vinyl which are bad, and bringing them back for return with great hassle.
Quality control is the concern of the manufacturer. Consumers shouldn't be required to pay for it. Employees there make you feel bad for returning a bad pressing and even deny it is bad, cutting you offf when talking, acting curt, and generally acting like jerks to their customers.
I shall not go back to East Side Records again and had been a long time paying customer. East Side has no respect for vinyl medium with their crammed bins smashing the vinyl and no temperature control in the summer months, allowing the store to get as hot inside as the outside desert air..

The Details on Eastside Records
Extras:
The selection of indie music zines and alternative comic books is more than inclusive. Book selection is less expansive, but if you're fond of William Burroughs, you can have your pick of first editions.
Know Before You Go:
The back wall has CD sections for ska, reggae, garage/surf, soul and jazz while whatever's left falls in alphabetically in the other rows.
