amazing dining experience! YUM!. Last year for Mother's day I took my mom and family to Roys Scottsdale, and we were completely blown away. I'm a foodie, and have traveled quite extensively, but the service was on point, as was the quality of the food. Lets start with the bloody mary's and guava mimosa we ordered. It was then followed with delicious seafood: lobster potstickers, salmon lomi lomi (bruchetta-like), and sushi. Those appetizers wet our appetites! The entrees were even more magnificent! Blackened salmon with scrambled eggs, lemon honey grilled tiger prawns, yummy snapper, and char-grilled NY steak and eggs. Brunch was delicious, and the fact that the staff was friendly while they tended to us made us feel welcome and comfortable. For desert my mom had the warm banana cake that we all shared with an espresso to wash it down. We couldn't help but thank the young and hip chef on the way out. His food was adventurous yet subtle, and it drove our pallets wild.

Plus, it wasn't overpriced for the quality!

We're definitely going back this year for Mother's Day brunch!

This sophisticated Hawaiian-fusion restaurant gives mainlanders an upscale taste of the islands.. In Short
Roy Yamaguchi opened his first restaurant in 1988 in Honolulu, Hawaii, blending European cooking techniques with locally produced ingredients and Asian spices. Today, his Hawaiian-fusion cuisine is served in a sophisticated atmosphere with dark woods, Asian accents and contemporary, island-inspired art. In addition to "Roy's classics" like Hawaiian-style misoyaki butterfish and the popular melting hot chocolate souffle, each location offers daily specials prepared by the local chef, all of whom are trained personally by Roy.

Awesome experience!. This place is fantastic! We had a great experience from beginning to end. The food was flavorful and tasty and cooked to order. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. I definately recommend this restaurant to anyone. The setting was beautiful and romantic. I've enjoyed eating at numerous restaurants in the Valley and Roy's is at the top of the list!!

Great Food. We've seen Roy's in Southern California, but had never found an occasion to go. On vacation, we picked a night to splurge, and what a great place to do so! My wife orderd the prix fix meal, with an appetizer sampler, chicken and molten-lava cake (so good.) I got a fish sampler and the lobster potsticker appetizer. Everything we ordered was excellent, and we'll definitely be back again.

Good food, average service. Admittedly, I went on a very busy Friday and sat at the lounge/bar. It took >5min to be noticed by the wait-staff, e.g., just to get water. My waiter provided efficient but hurried service; and though polite I never felt very welcomed. I ordered the prix fix meal which is a bargain, since you get a sampling of appetizers, an entree and a dessert. The signature macadamia crusted mahi-mahi was enjoyable. The molten-lava souffle divine. It's a happening spot on a Friday, it's good for groups. Romantic in lighting - but rather loud for couples.
