I go for their happy hour because their yellowtail sushi is half off. The food tastes ok.Their service is slow sometimes, so don't go when you are in a hurry.

Love the setup!. Great sushi at a decent happy hour. Loved the ambience when I went. Lots of different kinds of seating too. It's just missing the big patio like the one in Old Town Scottsdale.

A chain sushi restaurant worth eating at. The crowd is a little to hip and the music a little too loud, but other than that the sushi is always good. I like happy hour where some food selections and drinks are half price.

So-So Sushi. Two-Stars Says It All: Ra on Mill Avenue is a letdown in comparison to Ra Sushi on Scottsdale Road.

Cons: Service here is much slower than in Scottsdale. Last two times I've dined (although, I'll admit this was during Happy Hour, while busy) in I was stuck in a back table and seemingly forgotten about. Thus, my sushi rolls took twenty minutes to arrive at my table and were beyond room temperature at this point- warm, soft sushi... not too appealing. Never received a single drink refill, either.

Pros: Great Happy Hour Prices! Select rolls, apps, and drinks are half off for both happy hour and reverse happy hour!

Overall: A decent place for sushi (rolls sometimes lack flavor but for the price, can't complain).

Sushi Okay, not great. The ambiance was better than the sushi, and I thought it was kind of pricey. Lunch is impossible, I probably won't go for lunch again...it is just too busy. I will probably just make my order "To Go" from now on.

Sushi restaurant and lounge features Asian fusion dishes and sleek, club-like decor.. In Short
Washed in red by overhead lamps and stained woods, the sleek décor bears a hip Asian feel. Expect an Asian fusion menu and artful sushi, including specialty rolls like the Tootsy Maki, Lone Star Roll and lotus-root-topped Viva Las Vegas. Enjoy a specialty cocktail or happy hour in the lounge.

Service and food Leave a lot to be desired. The service is atrocious. If you must go, do not go during lunch. I waited an 1.5 hours for someone to give me my bill during a lunch outing and getting the attention of my server was near impossible. As for the sushi, the sushi used to be good when the establishment opened several years ago but it soon became a corporate entity and with that the sushi went down hill. If you want good sushi go to Sushi Eye on Elliot. In my opinion, the sushi is the best in the Valley (this is coming from someone who LOVESSSSSSSSSSSS sushi. Sushi Eye isn't a hipster hang out but the food and service are great!

awesome sushi, perfect martinis, great service and i though I was hard to please!. I have been going to RA in Tempe since 1999 ish when I was in college in Tempe. I still love it just as much as I did then. The sushi is not fishy. Perhaps that person ordered something they didn't like, or maybe they don't even like sushi! I love the California Rolls and the sweet eel sauce is the best I have had at any sushi restaurant. I am very picky about my Martinis and they always make them perfect, even though they don't know me from anyone else off the street. I have never had bad service. It is usually packed and sometimes there is a long wait to sit down though because it is such a hot spot for the cool people. If I had any complaints at all, it would be that everyone is so attractive! LOL

Fishy Sushi + Lame Service + Overpriced Bar = Pathetic Place. I've been to ra several times, including a few times during the lunch hour, and several visits on Friday and Saturday Nights. Their Sushi is fishy, their service is nearly pathetic, their bartenders are rude, their bar is overpriced, all adding up to a pretty crummy place. If you're looking for a spot on Friday Night, try the P Cat Lounge in Scottsdale for the atmosphere, and some other place for the lunch hour sushi.....
