In Short – Z'Tejas delivers spicy food in a spicy setting. A recent renovation left Z' Tejas looking more elegant and less rustic than it used to, but the place still emits a laid-back attitude. The menu offers unique salads and sandwiches, and entrees are given a Southwestern twist. Try the catfish beignets, zippy VooDoo Tuna and a wicked Ancho Chile Fudge Pie.
Great Drinks

Been pretty pleased with most of their food, but it's all about the drinks. I know that the margaritas are well known, and for good reason, but two words: PEACH TEA. Yes it has booze in it, it is absolutely amazing, I can't stop thinking about it, it's kinda sad but it was soo good.
- Pros: Expensive
- Cons: Great Drinks
If you value your health don't ever eat here! (chandler location)

We decided to try the Z Tejas in Chandler:
This was the WORST dining experience I have ever had!!! Food was bland, fish was stinky, resaurant smelled like sewer and the water tasted FOUL! Apperently the "world famous margaritas" are made from rot-gut tequila which they pass off as "sauza gold"! I havent even gotten to the worst part, while dining (later in the evening) we saw a RODENT!!! I frantically tried to track down the manager who was nowhere to be found. Finally when managment was informed, they acted nonchalant like this was a common everyday occurance!?!?!?!?!? The only thing offered was dessert on the house?!?!?! No thank you, never again!
- Pros: location
- Cons: food/managment/cleanliness
Pleasant Surprise
by latinvalleygirl
Didn't know what to expect during our visit to Scottsdale... and lunch at this Restaurant's was one of the highlights. The corn bread was amazing. The shrimp tostada appetizer was to die for and the diablo chicken pasta (I think that's what it was called) was totally delicious. Would definitely eat there again when in Arizona.
- Pros: cornbread, shrimp appetizers
- Cons: mojitos
