In Short – With a decor of dark wood, leather upholstery and soft lighting, this clubby steakhouse has a warm, upscale feel. The menu's focus is prime beef (aged up to four weeks), from bone-in rib eye and filet mignon to New York strip drizzled with bearnaise sauce. Classic seafood offerings include lobster tails, steamed crab legs and wild Alaskan salmon; sides, served a la carte, include baked potato and chipotle mac and cheese.

My father-in-law treated my husband and I to dinner at Fleming's, and I was truly impressed. The server and expediter were very friendly and knowledgeable about the food, and were able to give great suggestions about wine pairings. I ordered the seared tuna, and it was amazing. It about melted in my mouth. I tried my husbands steak, and that was cooked perfectly, as well. We ordered the Chocolate Lava cake for dessert, and it should be named Death by chocolate! When we go back to Scottsdale, I would love to go back to this place.

After reading all the hype about this restaurant, I decided to give it a try with my husband. We are natives to Scottsdale and are familiar with steakhouse favorites Mortan?s and City Hall. Although we have heard our friends mention Fleming's here and there, we never got around to going.
I have to admit, this restaurant does set itself apart. I was unaware that it was also a wine bar. I was impressed I could choose from over 100 wines by the glass...I could even pick any three wines I wanted and they would give me 3 two-ounce glasses (instead of 1 six-ounce) for just a third of the price for each glass. So I wasn't spending any more, and the flight was the same amount of wine as a single glass!
Our server was knowledgeable about the wine and made some great suggestions. The food was excellent and prepared to order; I didn't even have to hold my napkin up so butter would splash on me (sorry Ruth Chris).
We will definitely have to come back -- would recommend
- Pros: knowledge and attentive staff; wine bar always a plus; not as snooty as Mortons or City Hall
- Cons: parking is limited but valet is complementary
