Tips for Sweet Tomatoes

Some of the new changes not for the best.. For years I was a regular at Sweet Tomato at Indian Bend Rd in Scottsdale, AZ. Then, for various reasons, I did not get there for couple of years. Friday, Nov 9th, I had dinner there. As usual, the salad bar was the best in town. However, there were several changes that detracted from my dining experience.

(1) The soup bowls used to be ample size, great when one went there just for the soups and hot breads, and perhaps one side dish. Now the soup bowls are about 5 ounces. Not good!!

(2) The fruit bar that used to have pineapple chunks, melon slices, canned sliced peaches, now has whole apples. Who wants to sit in a restaurant eating a whole apple. Not good!!

(3) A children's play area has been set up in the room adjoining the main room. A great concept since many families dine there. However, the play area is set up at the entrance to the room, causing customers to navigate around toys strewn on the floor, while carrying trays of food and beverage. A better idea would be to set up the play area at the far end of the room, And safer for the children who play there.

(4) The soft serve ice cream has always been watery and sticky. Please consider using the soft serve that Dairy Queen and MacDonalds serve.

Thanks for listening & I hope these above comments will be acted upon. I would like to once again make the Sweet Tomato a regular dining place.

soup and salad. The restaurant advertises itself as the "Salad People", this is an understatement. There are ample amounts of sald to choose from with the accompanying items, the soup bar is where the real bargain is. There are six soups to choose from, we had three and each one was excellent. In addition there is pasta, although it is very limited, different breads and desserts including yogurt. This is a great place to go for a lighter dinner, although the soups may make up for the salad.
