Great place for Mexican food.
The place looked too original, meaning that it could use some work on the outside. I could have probably had an easier time parking if the lot wasn't backed up to a main street. It wasn't too busy when I arrived, yet during my stay a number of people showed up who seemed to be locals and regulars. Overall I was pleased with the restaurant and enjoyed my time there.
The food was quite good, yet it didn't have the most appealing looks on the plate. It didn't look like the healthiest food I had ever eaten, but it filled me up nicely and didn't send me running to the bathroom. The service was okay, just not as speedy as I may have liked. I couldn't tell if I got free ice cream because their actual policy is so, or because my waitress was slow. The price was certainly right, my food was reasonably priced and good at the same time. Paying was more simple than I would have thought, it was convenient, yet much less classy to have to go to a register and pay. I'd go back sometime.
Rudys is great Mexican Food. These guys are consistently good, and one of the better food joints in the way east valley. I love their Machaca, tacos and enchilada sauce. I will keep going back.
Needs improvement. It was okay, but bland. Associates were friendly and the food was received in a timely manner. I ordered a chorizo and egg burrito and was rather disappointed. The price I paid for the burrito was fair and the size was decent. The tortilla was rather hard, even though there was less than 30 seconds from the time I received it until the time I began eating it. The texture of the chorizo and egg was rather "mushy" (for lack of a better term). No other food was eaten.
bland. I was excited to finally try Rudy's because it always seems to be busy. The inside was nothing special. Just one main room with some very basic diner chairs and tables. The menu had many choices, both of Mexican food and American food, all priced very inexpensively. I chose a plate that had a tostada with rice and beans. The beans and rice could not have been more bland. The tostada was small, not as full of toppings as it could have been. Service was great. Our waiter was very kind and attentive. Overall, not impressed and not sure why so many people are there all of the time. Perhaps I just did not order the right thing?
