This is the facility for you if you want your loved ones ignored and neglected at a cost to the insurance and family members. My Mother was placed in this Skilled Nursing Facility (recovery health
care center) by her doctor after a fall that resulted in bruised and broken ribs and her stay at a regular hospital was no longer required. (she is 81 yrs old). Since entering the facility my mother has endured a non-working airconditioner in her room, sub-par meals, and allowed to soil herself because the nurses aid did not or could not respond to her call button and light. Therapy was prescribed by her doctor on a daily basis. My mother has been in the care facility for 5 days to date and has only received therapy twice. This will result in my mothers stay being extended.
This particular care faciltiy requested that the patient have shorts, t-shirts, and shoes to wear during therapy (makes perfect sense), which we provided. We were instructed at the time that we would have to come into the facility to pick up patients clothing items and laundry them ourselves. We also needed to provide (at a cost to family members) all personal items ie: shampoo, toothpaste, kleenex, combs, etc. Is this not a hospital setting, and do they not worry about germs being brought in on personal items?
Does the Nursing Facility not worry because the rooms are kept overly warm and the spread of germs could possilby occur? Is the facility not concerned that home laundry conditions may not clean the clothing items well enough for a hospital inviroment?
I understand the limitations of a Skilled Nursing Facility, but I cannot understand the neglect of patients and I for one would not under any circumstance recommend the Apahce Junction Health Center to any one needing therapy or short term care regardless of age.…
