A real Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde--alternately beautiful and tough.. In Short
It's at once beautiful and a brute. Blame the split personality on architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., whose golf courses always seem to be tough to play, especially for the average golfer. Three factors make Las Sendas extra rough--severe bunkering, tight landing areas off the tee and elevated greens that are difficult to access. At the same time, few if any courses in the Phoenix area offer such spectacular views of the Valley and surrounding mountains. The signature hole, the par-5 ninth that requires two shots over water, offers especially spectacular vistas.
